Conversations with Nell: The Discerning World of a Wise and Witty Labrador

I have been following Nell's conversations for awhile and have been eagerly awaiting this lovely book. Anyone who has a Labrador Retriever will enjoy reading about the adventures of Nell and her family, told in a clever, conversation style with Nell the Lab always being the sensible one who explains everything to her beloved human. The many characters in the book, both animals and humans, are very interesting and endearing, as well as entertaining! I love reading Nell's daily conversation posts, and I am enjoying reading this book just as much. The photographs in the book are beautiful and I love the matte finish of the cover as well as the size of the book itself. It even has a pretty, green ribbon bookmark and I can't wait to try the recipes! It's perfect in every way and I'm so glad it arrived on my doorstep! My Lab is a reading therapy dog and she gives it her approval too! I highly recommend Conversations with Nell as a gift to anyone who appreciates dogs.

I have been following Sara and Nell for some time and every new conversation is a joy. This book is written so well that you feel like you are right there. Sara Martin has a wonderful imagination and a way of making you feel that you are a part of her crazy family. Seriously, if you don't read Conversations with Nell you are really missing out on the chance to become a member of Nell's world.

I have followed Conversations with Nell online for a long time. I always looked forward to those daily posts as they always made me laugh! When I learned there was going to be a book I immediately pre-ordered it! Sara Martin's book Conversations with Nell is a fun read that any dog loving family will enjoy! Lab lovers in particular will enjoy the antics of Nell and her family! Great book!

There is nothing to dislike in this book! I waited so long to read it and it didn't disappoint! As always Nell is direct and to the point, but sweet as only a labrador can be. Checking in with Nell and Sara and the whole family is the highlight of everyday, and now I can have a quick fix anytime with my book. Conversations With Nell is a must read😊

My husband bought this book for me and I'm over the moon about it.The details are delightful, the book itself is an experience from the beautiful hard cover to the premium pages, gorgeous pictures, and handcrafted illustrations.You are transported to the English countryside to join in on the antics of four dogs and their many animal friends. It is sweet, hilarious, and I can't seem to put it down.Thank you, Sara, for the beautiful voice you give your furry (and feathered and not-so-furry) friends. Utter fun!

I have been a loyal fan of Nell, Sara, Kev and the others for quite some time. I absolutely loved this book. I laughed at Poppy’s antics, and had some tears when Mutley passed. I got great joy from Dave’s relationship with Tony, and how protective he is over Harriet. Nell’s recipes are wonderful!Do yourself a favor and share the joy of this special family with as many people as you can this Holiday Season.

Bought the book for my 9 year old niece and she and my sister read the book every night. My niece is the voice of Nell and my sister Sara. They love the human interaction and now talk to their two dogs (Lucy the Lab and Scout the Border Collie/Heeler) the same way. They made the Pavlova recipe included and said it was the best desert ever!!

When we talk or write about a work of fiction we tend to use a superlative followed by the word read...great, fabulous, excellent and so on. When we are perusing a collection of photographs in print or recipes for that matter we may describe them as delicious, artful, artistic and even artisan. This is the essence of Conversations With Nell...a wonderfully, witty creation beautifully written by Sara Martin and presented in a quality, glossy format.The goings on in the Martin household where Nell, the matriarchal Labrador and leader of the pack discusses them with her owner and best friend Sara, wife, mother, writer and hopeless romantic, is totally captivating. The puppies also Labradors aka Dave, Sara's Big Brave Beautiful Boy and Harriet his sweet 'still waters run deep' sister keep their Aunt Nell on her toes. She is abely assisted or sometimes hindered by the rest of the family; Poppy, amazing chef (Maltese/Yorks terrier), Mutley, grandfather and great entrepreneur (elderly Patterdale), Gladys, mesmerising dancer, (black Pomeranian) and The Cat, theatrical dressmaker extraordinaire, (probably Dave's best friend). Nevertheless, the one Nell knows has always got her back and can do no wrong in her eyes is Kev., Sara's husband.Once you have shared in this wonderfully wacky world of the day to day happenings, the rescue of an unfortunate Turkey, the trials and tribulations of kidnap, the dilemmas of spies, the spookiness of ghosts and a smattering of romance you will not want to leave.Reading Conversations With Nell is certainly a uniquely entertaining way of looking at the world and is definitely recommended.

I am an avid follower of this lady on Facebook and was unsure whether to buy the book as I thought I would have read the tales already....how wrong can one be? The stories in the book are new, entertaining, and utterly charming to read - with free recipes to boot!Sara Martin has a wonderful talent for telling us the ridiculous and making it utterly believable. I live in Devon and still expect to see a dog carrying a handbag on the Quay being pelted with mackerel from low flying gulls (Or Beefies as I now know them!)As for the star of the book, Nell - if anyone has ever owned or known a labrador then Nell will feel like a long lost relation. Her wit, warmth, and cutting put-downs are legendary and can change faster than a full stop gets typed.Buy this book as an investment to laugh out loud often, to cure a sad mood, and to learn something new from an amazing array of four-legged, two-legged, winged, furred, and feathered friends ....and of course an occasional human input in the form of Sara Martin.It should, without question, be made into a film.

This has been a long awaited book but I must say, the wait has been well worth it!!If you love dogs, particularly labradors, then this is a MUST HAVE book. Sara and Nell have such wonderful conversations, their family is... different, in a most delightful way. The adventures that they all get up to are completely believable. Nell’s life lessons are ones we can all benefit from. The highs and lows and the humour is skilfully woven. Sara Martin is an author you must read.Go on, treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

I'm not quite sure how I chanced upon the world of Sara & Nell online but I'm so glad I did because they simply brighten every day with marvellous conversations of a world I love & long to inhabit. This long-awaited (due to the dreaded covid-19) book is beautifully illustrated and shares the history of Sara & Nell the Labrador's family & friends and their amazing antics. Life is never ever dull & I highly recommend you take some time to join them. Life would be so much better if everybody had the support & advice of a beautiful black Labrador called Nell to keep them informed, in line & on track.

The long anticipated book has finally been delivered and I could not be happier. It’s beautifully illustrated and written. I so look forward to Nell’s conversations everyday on social media and this is the icing on the cake. If your a dog a lover this is a must. Brilliant conversations with the wise Nell should be on every dog lovers coffee table. The ensemble of wonderful characters and the adventures they get up leaves you wanting to read more.
