60 second install, works great on my 2015 Boxster.
These are a real bargain compared to oem parts, and at least to start, they provide plenty of lift. I do not think my sweet Boxster GTS will mind a minor Chinese part. All you need is a very small flat head screwdriver (or pick) to pry up the clips to get the old ones off. See attached pic of original one I removed, showing where to stick your pry tool. The clip doesn't come off - just comes out enough to allow removal of the strut. I found it easier to remove the top first, then you can rotate the strut to get better access to the bottom clip. The replacements pop directly on, with no need to loosen the clip. Do prop up your hood, because when you pop off the first one, the hood will come down.

These are amazing
Bought these for my 911 front and back. Installation was very simple Less than 30 mins for all four. Perfect spec as advertised. Strongly recommend as these are 3X the price at the dealer. If you Are not hung up on having all dealer parts, you will be happy purchasing these lifters.

No instructions, but good quality.
Would have been helpful to have instructions. Both front and rear trunk struts work great, just like OEM ones. It's a 2 person job if both struts are bad, as the hood has to be fully open to install them. There are videos online for Covette ones that are well detailed on how to install them. These work the same way.

Total disappointment
Bought it for my 2014 911 but didn't get a chance to install it for 2 months. Installation was super easy, took less than 5 minutes and it worked perfect. But after a week, it got so weak that it couldn't hold to trunk's weight. Since I passed the return date of 30 days, it went into trash bin. I ordered another one from the dealer.

So far, so good
These fit my 2014 Boxster after the original ones failed and wouldn't hold the front trunk lid up at all. The new ones gladly push it right up as expected. It's incredibly easy to remove the old and install the new. The dealer quoted me $346 which is a far cry from my $29 total cost with these struts. To install them, you just need to hold the hood up while you replace them and I found that a broom did the trick, putting the bristles down in the frunk and the handle holding up the hood, stuck in a round hole.If these fail prematurely, I'll come back and update this review.

Good Aftermarket Replacement for Porsche 2015 Cayman Front Hood Struts
Like many other 991/981 Porsche's, the front hood struts on my 2015 Cayman (981) had become weak, and would drop the hood if a slight breeze pushed on it. In looking at OEM replacement units, they were $38 to $50 each, depending on where purchased. I am usually a strict OEM part replacement guy, yet for under $20 for a pair, I thought I would give these Hood Struts a try. The new units are made in China, yet are a very close copy of the original units. They fit well, and function just like the originals when new. They even came with the dap of grease in each socket. Replacement was less than 10 minutes, as the mounting clips are identical to the originals. With the originals lasted less than 6 years, I figures that if these last 2 years, they will be better than the OEM parts for the cost.
