It's a master cylinder. It did its job!
Things been running like a champ. Had to replace the original break booster on a 97 Chevy, thought I'd replace this doo-dad too. Fits perfectly for the 97 k1500, easy to install (jokes, it's a master cylinder, bleeding that joker is no fun), and an awesome value. Been running for roughly 8k miles with no issues.

Comparable to OEM, way cheaper than the dealership, even cheaper than auto parts stores
There is never a good time for a master cylinder to take a dump. However, mine failed in my driveway just a few minutes after my wife and I had driven about 40 miles with a load. Pretty fortunate eh?! Just imagine an old red farm truck out with ZERO brakes in Kentucky hills with a full load of wood... Could have been gnarly... Anyway, I have digressed, regressed and obsessed enough... I did my homework and realized that ultimately there were two master cylinders for my truck, one for standard duty and one for heavy duty. There was no way in Cowboy H3LL I was going to pay the stealership full retail price for the OEM part. So, I double and triple checked that this Dorman part number would satisfy my Big Red Beast prior to ordering it. This part was way cheaper than anything I could get locally and with Prime shipping I only had to wait 2 or 3 days. While waiting for the part to come in I watched lots of videos on master cylinder replacement AND MASTER CYLINDER BLEEDING! Bleeding a new master cylinder is a must!!! Otherwise you push air into all the brake lines. For this, I recommend companion Dorman part 13911 Master Cylinder Bleeder Kit for about $8-$11. I got one locally when I bought my brake fluid. I was able to bleed my MC right on the truck prior to hooking up the fluid lines. Also, prior to bleeding the individual brake lines I bled the ABS head unit. It's super easy on GM trucks if you have two people and beer. The install of the MC was pretty straightforward. Should be an easy 1-2 hour job if you are mechanically inclined, have proper tools, assistance and adequate beer. One pitfall that can happen with a new MC is that you csn find brake fluid leaks you never knew you had. Actually, I think the power of a fresh MC blows out weak spots in old lines. This happened to me, of course! I had to get a designated driver to drive me to the parts house for 6 feet of metal brake line that I had to bend and curse into submission... 3 hours later the MC was installed/bled, ABS head unit bled, brake line replaced and all individual brake lines were bled. The truck hasn't stopped this well since Year of Our Lord 1998. I hope this helped you or at least entertained you! Good luck on your automotive (possibly alcoholic) adventure!

Hot garbage , broke right after the return window second time !
Terrible qualify , installed this a month or two ago. And this is my second one and last one I buy from them. Keeps leaking at the reservoir seal ! Using DOT4. VERY FRUSTRATING! Clearly these are garbage from the get go , the front seal (second time now) just starts leaking. ..
