Liked the Use Cases presented in this book
Liked the Use Cases presented in this book. Found it a powerful guide in driving my own understanding of how software is changing our networking world. The contributors are those actually working on the front lines of technology evolution and it comes through in the book. Keep in mind, this is a technical book and not a light reading overview of the subject. For those whom want to deeply understand network transformation and deep level. Great book!

very high falutin writing style
Book covers multiple topics. Many of the topics i'm somewhat new to. But others are right in my domain. The book is written in such a style that topics that can be explain in a reader friendly manner are abstracted away and end up being unnecessarily verbose. Like the authors are trying to impress rather than explain. Its gets 2 stars for general content. But the book is unnecessarily hard to read.

A very hands-on book with concreate use cases. I fully recommend it for person intersting to understand deeply a global vision of NFV/SDN transformation journey.

Evolving the National Network
This is the most complete presentation of the approach to modernizing the national network as a software defined entity. The further vision of the national network as a Network Cloud allows the insights flowing from Cloud Computing to be applied to the services provided by the national network presenting them as a set of elastic services which can be ordered and rapidly modified to meet business demand. It also offers opportunities to manage this network and its processes in a more flexible fashion, well beyond the TMN model from the past. The book is well organized, clearly written, and provides the only overall view of the application of software defined principles to the evolution of the national network. Certainly a must read for academics as well as networking technologists.Frank M. Groom, PhD, Center for Information and Communication Sciences, Ball State University

One of the best books in the topic
One the most ground breaking work ever published on SDN/NFV and everything in between. The authors are not only industry experts but authority on many of the subjects and topics that make up this book. The books is not just a good learning experience but also helps the reader understand the complex landscape that is emerging from the tedious and laborious work of the authors. I highly recommend this book to anyone who seeks to be on the cutting edge of network technologies of the future and the ideas that will shape them. Both John and Krish have decades of experience and it shows in the meticulous way the book is organized and delivered to the reader. What makes it such a comprehensive and up to date encyclopedia, is the various authors besides Donovan and Prabhu. This is a bleeding edge work and compendium of everything you ever wanted to know when it comes to the network of the future and the need that is driving it.
