pp-Code WiFi Temperature Probe Sensor, Monitor From Anywhere with Email & SMS alerts (Probe Length: 3M)

I needed something more reliable than the Lacrosse devices I've been using for several years. This IP thermometer is great. So far it stays connected to my lousy DSL router/modem at my country house real well (I use it to monitor crawl space temperature for potential winter freezing). I also like that it's powered by a wall transformer- no more replacing batteries. Well constructed too- robust, not flimsy. Utilizes a great Android app. Fine customer support, too!

I called this company before I purchased the product and I got a real person! I told them that I was considering purchasing their product and I wanted to confirm that they were a legitimate company. They were so nice and personable. They even took the time to even tell me a bit about their company so I went ahead and purchased from them. I received the product right away and in perfect condition. It was exactly as described. I live in Maine, so when I travel during the winter months I ABSOLUTELY have to monitor the temperature in my home. This works PERFECTLY and with $1.99 per month subscription, (less if you pay yearly) it sends alerts to my phone when the temperature exceeds my preset parameters. Because I am usually in a different time zone, I needed to make sure that the alerts would wake me if something happened while I was sleeping. IT WORKS PERFECTLY! When setting it up, I sent myself a test alert, then added that number to my contacts and assigned it a very alarming tone then selected the setting that allows the alert to come through even when my phone is on silent. It will also send me an alert within 15 minutes if the power goes out as I do no have an automatic generator. I also was able to add my son's info to my account so that he will get an alert as well, which is great because he will be the one to go start the generator and keep my house from freezing saving me thousands of dollars.BUY THIS PRODUCT, you will not be disappointed!

Couldn't get this to connect to my wifi i had it as close as the directions called but a window and wall in between may have interferred

I have had a continuing need for accurate remote temperature monitoring for several years and recording of data. I have investigated and used many different devices and while some have been more or less adequate none have reached the accuracy and reliability of this device.I now have 4 of the devices installed and a fifth one on order. I recommend them highly. An absolutely excellent product if the data are important to you and jazzy appearance or rock bottom price are not motivators for your purchase. This company supplies technical excellence and excellent data service, period.Update 9/3/2922The external temperature probe on one of the devices failed but no problem because it was replaced PDQ. All that was required was shipping the unit back for repair which was promptly completed. Add excellent customer service to the quality list for this device!

I opened the box, followed the directions, and it was up and running. It took no special skills beyond reading the instructions and doing exactly what they said.I'm using it to measure the temperature of the air leaving my HVAC air handler, and using a custom program to access it locally getting a temperature reading once a minutes. I have a different device with a similar temperature probe, and prior to inserting the probe in the duct I kept the probes side-by-side and monitored the values for a couple of days and was pleased to see them being within fractions of a degree of each other.I drilled a 1/4" hole in the duct above the air handler and the probe fits perfectly, stopping where the metal probe ends and the black cable and connector begin. I used a little bit of foil tape to secure and seal the probe to the duct. (As an aside, I'm using the other device to measure the air temperature where the system air returns to the air handler (just before the air filter.)

It’s okayIt does give false readings.It was very time consuming to set up.Took a lot of hours.Had to pay a small amount extra per year to add an additional person to monitor it.

This appears to be a home built product with exceptional quality. The tech support is via email or voice mail. I had a couple questions for my unique application. Both emails were responded to within 2 hours. One was Friday evening, the other was late Saturday.I have a place on Lake Ontario. Over the summer, the near shore water temp varies from 45 to 80 depending on the wind direction. It can swing 20 degrees in 1 day. I have been looking for a wireless thermometer to put on the end of my dock to monitor the water temperature. The distance from the unit to my house is about 200 ft. This is the first device that I have tried that has not only worked, but far exceeded my expectations. I do not know if the probe is waterproof, but the lake can be hard on things, so I put the temperature sensor inside a section of plastic tube then filled it with silicone calking.2023 Update - This unit continued to amaze me. Watchman online (supplier) Recommends keeping the electronics inside, but a calked the case shut and kept it outside from June 2020 till a storm washed it off my dock in July 2023. It never skipped a beat.after losing my original watchman, I purchased a dual probe unit from their site, watchman.online. They have many more choices there.I operate this off of a small lawn mower battery with a solar charger.
