Jonah Thompson Flute -Walnut Bear Pack

I've been a clarinetist for over three decades. I was looking for a softer sounding instrument for both my meditation practice and healing circles. I've been looking for a native flute for many years. I've always found the sound and tuning of the inexpensive flutes unpleasant and poorly made (the holes are often too far apart or too big for my small hands) until this flute. Not only is it beautiful and easy to play but the sound is lovely. I highly recommend this flute - especially for the price.

I just received my Jonah Thompson flute from Amazon today and I am really surprised at the quality of this piece. I own an f# from Jonah Thompson and love it. The flute itself seems fine but the leather strap that ties the bird on was very loose and when I tried to tighten it , it practically disintegrated! It was the cheapest piece of leather I have ever seen. I don’t know what’s going on down there but somebody’s quality control is lacking. Or it’s been in Amazon’s control too long.

Got this for my little Indian warrior he absolutely loves it has great sound and beautiful work done on it well worth the money spent!!

I am delighted to have this tangible connection to American Indian customs and traditions! The flute was well-packaged and arrived in excellent condition. The color and grain of the wood is music to my soul! Beautifully crafted; the bear totem, leather thong and feather along with the colorful flute-bag enhance the cultural impact. Looking forward to developing better skills with this beautiful instrument!

I don’t know if I should of got the Lion instead of the bear or something but my flute can’t get a good sound. Now I’m stuck still not learning to play the flute and down $150

For a very long time I have wanted to invest in a native American flute. Now that my children are grown, I have gotten this flute and have grown to love the sound and the enjoyment I get as I sit in the woods and play. Looking forward to when I can truly say I can play. Just had it for a week so as far as durability, unable to say at present. Easy to follow instructions come with the flute to help get started.

Good price, good value for a Native American style flute. This one is actually made in the US too, so that's a plus. The price point is very good, but the sound quality is maybe just above average. I fiddled with the fetish and could get it to play, but you do need to blow carefully and measure air flow, else it can really squeal on you. I have seen much nicer flutes, yes, but they also are 3 or 4 times the cost, so all things considered, this one is good value for what you get.

Easy to play, and to finger. It is also a beautiful instrument to play. Note to other flute buyers. This quality for this price will not be found at the flute makers at a pow wow. I went to a flute festival with lots of flute makers and this one I bought will hold its own with the best of them, except without the big price tag. The case was beautiful and very well made, too! I highly recommend them!
