Blumat Moisture Meter for Plants - Accurate Soil Moisture Meter - Easy to Use Advanced Water Meter for Gardening (Moisture Meter with Cap)

This is an amazing product and all the bad reviews don’t know what they are talking about. I grow in organic living soil (BAS 3.0) and this thing taught me how to water. I also own an Irrometer but I like these Blumat tensiometers better because you don’t have to fiddle with air bubbles which is a major PITA for the irrometer, so now I own 3 of these digital ones. You just soak for an hour, shake underwater to get any bubbles out, and then screw the top on filled to the brim. Done. Follow the instructions pamphlet. Only 2-4 inches from the edge of the pot, 8 inches deep. 50-120 mbar. I put them straight in the soil even with pumice chunks with no reading issues. I have one each in a 20 gallon and two 15 gallon pots. Jeremy from Buildasoil recommends keeping the 3.0 soil wetter around 40-80 mbar in veg and I agree if I go dryer than that I get nute burn from not having enough moisture. Then after stretch 80-120 mbar for flower. If you are using KIS Organics soil, Tad recommends 80-120 mbar. These are precise instruments and if you set it up properly then that means it is reading properly, so if you see a reading for the first time and think it’s off it’s not, it’s just that section of soil really is that wet or dry. The only con is that the digital top is not waterproof, but the tube it comes in makes for a perfect cap. I cut the end off about 4 inches and keep it over the top at all times.

It doesn't work?? It reads the same all the time?? Please give me a break!! This is an excellent product IF you use it correctly! You MUST make sure the water inside the tube is at the very top to touch the gauge top. If you meter never changes the reading you need to put it in dry soil and let it sit for about two hours and reset after reading. This is a fine product but you should read instructions and follow them to the letter. The end is ceramic and you can always use lite grit sandpaper on probe to "refresh" the ceramic if necessary. Again this is right in instructions. This is a high quality product for the money. Remember it is designed to leave in one place to monitor your tree, shrub, etc. this item is NOT designed to walk around the yard checking moisture in various plants.

Stopped working after one grow replaced the battery and still won’t turn on. Tried to get a replacement from Amazon but they won’t. Sent me to the seller substainable village but they aren’t the real sellers even though that’s how it’s listed unfortunately I’m out my money $80+ at the time

I buy a lot of stuff. With the increase in products being sold directly by Chinese companies, I've noticed that manufacturers simply refuse to honor warranties and there is absolutely no recourse for the consumer. This meter is an excellent meter and if you know the cost of most irrometers, you'll recognize it is at a great price. I have one defective meter out of six and Blumat replaced for me. No going back and forth until the warranty period ends. No asking me to write a positive review first. This is a good product from a great company sold at a great price. update on: 2/1/2019: I bought another one of your moisture sensor, and will get more. I love using them. they have totally changed my watering habits. More for my beds and far less for all the in ground stuff. My home’s water usage started going down as soon as I put the first one in, and our vegetable beds are doing so much better. I’m also reducing the risk of root rot with the avocado trees as I reduced winter watering by 90% relative to a year ago and I water about 25% more during the summer. I had thought our four avocado trees were doing well before, but they are doing even better now Less salt accumulation, so less brown tips. This means less leaves falling off this month. The flower buds are already coming in in massive numbers. I'm anticipating a good fruit set this spring.

I love the product--it works as described. Just be aware I've ordered 4 and none of them have come with the protective cap as noted in the description. You can't let the device get wet, so you need a cap. Regarding the benefits of a transparent cap, you need to press the button on the device to get a reading, which means you need to remove the cap and once it's off it doesn't matter what color it is. ;)

They work great and help keep my living soil dialed in. Had a problem but awesome customer service had replacement shipped out immediately!

I purchased this item two weeks ago, and the battery is already dead in one of my sensors. I went to replace the battery as the item could have been sitting on the shelf for a bit and this is not out of the realm of possibilities. I read the instructions provided for the digital meter "Unscrew bottom of measuring head with a Phillips Screwdriver, press the metal bracket holding the battery backwards until the battery is released.". But there is no "metal bracket that can be bent backwards". I have spent way more time trying to change a battery in this sensor than I would have liked. I have to admit, I am glad I found this issue before I purchased any more sensors. Second complaint, The display gave an indicator of Lob when the button was pressed. But there is nothing in the literature or online at bluemat which indicates what this code means. I am only left to assume it meant low battery. $84 for two weeks worth of readings is a bit of a disappointment. I guess I will scour the internet and waste more of my time trying to identify how to replace this battery or identify why this sensor stopped working after only 2 weeks of use. Edit: replaced the battery 3 times in 2 days. Finally found a package of batteries which has lasted a few days after replacing. I am hoping it was just a bad battery from sitting on the shelf, and a package of bad batteries from the store, which was causing the problem for me. I decided a 1 star rating was too low. So I have raised it up to 3. (hard to replace battery -1, really flimsy gasket which is difficult to place properly without damaging -1).

Worth every penny for accurate and easy readings on soil moisture. I’m considering buying more

I bought 2of these items (the first one few months ago ) and it matches the description. The other one I bought recently, and it’s defective..I want to send it back, but the seller refuses to provide with return label and refund . I strongly discourage dealing with this seller.

Works great and very accurate and once it's setup it's easy to check how much water is in the soil.

Ich habe dieses gerät seit einer woche im einsatz und habe es bereits an verschiedenen kübelplanzen täglich mehrfach getestet. besonders positiv haben mich die hochausgeprägten quantitaven ergebnisse und die überzeugende meßmethode über den wurzelansaugdruck überrascht. sehr gut auch die beiliegende anleitung mit vielen praktischen pflanzenbeispielen und deren optimale bewässerung. mich verwundert, dass hier einige kunden systeme anpreisen, die nicht die wasserverfügbarkeit für die pflanzen, sondern die elektrische leitfähigkeit der erde/des substrates messen und selbst das sehr ungenau bis unbefriedigend; die außer billig kaum zu gebrauchen sind.
