Japanese History
I have an interest in this period of Japanese history and wanted to see what this film said. On viewing I would say its not a film more a docudrama taking actual events and using actors to portray what is know, that is not a criticism. I enjoyed it and the effects.

Big screen action.
Excellent, Game of Throne's in Japan Documentary and acting complimented each other, beware some dramatic violence in the fighting scenes.

Misleading
Historically inaccurate. Politics far more complex than portrayed. Multiple defections by other forces than those led by Hideaki during the battle. Very unlikely that Ieyasu fired on Hideaki, whether cannon (BBC) or arquebus (historical legend). Hideaki definitely not the clean cut young man portrayed - waged an absolutely brutal campaign of conquest in Korea prior to 1600.The docu-drama format does not work well; is the dialogue supported by historical documents?Speaking English is clumsy, and the actors appear both modern and Western in manner and gesture.Costumes are good, an impressive spectacle, presumably historically correct. Though Ran it is not.

A docudrama
Enjoyable and informative a drama/documentary, new subject matter to me and I felt I learned from and enjoyed it.Well made it gives an insight into the politics and power struggle of the time so IMO well worth the small cover price.

Worth watching
Not many of us (in UK) know much if anything about Japan's history before the 20th century alas, and this was very much an interesting insight. I enjoyed watching this throughout. Good acting by all involved.
