Soooo Sweet
This is such a sweet book for babies, toddlers, and those that find comfort in touch.Keep in mind that this is a book for babies/toddlers, so it is a thick, hardback book with just a few pages.

Feels just like the real thing
It always makes me laugh how simple these books are and how they are just an excuse to get your little ones (and be honest.. yourself) to touch the fuzzy pages that feel surprisingly similar to the real thing. This book does not disappoint. I felt the yellow feathers of that little chick on the front cover and started having flashbacks of my grandmas farm growing up, with the smell of cow manure in the air and the sound of that train that split the farm in half. On the next page I'm pretty sure it was a horse's snout and again I was surprised at how real it felt. If you want to take your child to the farm without leaving the house. This is your go to book! If you don't like reading books then go to the farm and touch all the animals. You will know what this book is like after doing so.

Perfect for babies exploring textures
This was PERFECT for my kids when they were babies just starting to touch things. They loved exploring the different textures. They also continued to enjoy as toddlers when they were learning animal names and sounds. The book is very durable, we’ve had it for 4 years with two kids and it still in great condition.

My grandson (14 months) likes books but love sensory books
My grandson (14 months) likes books but love sensory books. He will spend a given amount of time self entertained with this books by DK. So much so I ordered three more!! You can tell the little guy loves them so much when he gets a regular book his little index searches the pages to touch and feel. He often sets a regular book aside when he realizes there is nothing tactile to explore to find one of these books. These are a great way to introduce your toddler to the love of books.

... 7 months old and this is one of his favorite books. He loves to feel the different textures ...
My youngest son is 7 months old and this is one of his favorite books. He loves to feel the different textures on each page. The textured area is not that large, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He knows right where to go and loves to feel the textures. I am happy with the purchases and would purchase this for a friend as a baby shower gift in the future.

The Best DK Touch & Feel Book!
This is by far the best touch and feel style book for younger babies. So many of this style of book don't work well for young babies because the textured part is so small that they don't have the coordination to utilize it. This one has family large textured areas with a nice variety of different kind of things to feel all sent to animals you would find on the farm. It is also a nice opportunity to reinforce animal names and sounds while giving them fun textures to enjoy.I don't like the other DK Touch and Feel books because even I have a hard time finding the textures sometimes. This is the only one I have found with nice big patches from DK and we have received a few others from friends and family.

short but effective at capturing the attention of a child, holds up well to abuse
My 1 year old (now) daughter has loved looking at these books up until recently. She always felt the pages and they seemed to keep her attention really well. She always scratched at the pages with her finger nail and seems to love the soft fluffy pages (chick as example). Book has held up really well to 4 months of use/abuse. This book pretty much sits on the floor 90% of the time and gets kicked around until she plays with it. However, it's fun to sit her on your lap and read her this book. Great at calming or distracting a child for 30 seconds.

Good quality
This is a short book. Four animals (no spoilers, hah!) to feel and each one has a unique (one even creative!) texture for baby to feel. I was relieved that it doesn't just have embossing. You've got to have some sort of fabric/material other than the book itself for it to count in my--and my baby's--book. It also has some complexity for discussion with toddlers--it has the adult and baby of each animal, you can count the animals, name colors, make their sounds, etc. This is a go-to book right now (age 11 months) because my daughter insists her books be interactive. The only drawback: like I said, it's a short book.

Not many pages but textures varied + a real hit
Gave this as a 1st birthday gift. Perfect. Pages are thick board. There's not very many pages. The idea to combine colourful pics and textiles in the book is imaginative. The textures for the long silky dog hair or the fuzzy chick or the thick woolley sheep are so different and inspire interest.

Great first book for my 10 month baby
The touch and feel is excellent. The photographs are large and wonderful and the items to feel are an excellent tool for your youngster. These books are perfectly sized for you and your baby to read. My baby likes all of the animals in this book and loves flipping through them by herself again an again.cons:I have concern for the page with the dog on it. As the fabric they use as it's fur, It seems it might come off. Should be careful when reading with baby to make sure that when baby touches it that none of it comes back with the hand and baby puts in mouth.

These touch and feel books are popular with our son. This particular one seems to have a bit more staying power than some of the other touch and feels we have.
