WordPress in easy steps: Covers WordPress 4

The main feature of this book is that it is so readily readable. The text flows, the illustrations are on point, and a reading of the book takes a newbie to a comfort zone in working with Wordpress. Although there are newer releases of Wordpress, the core issues are still there. I have found the entire series of "...in easy steps' books highly useful and good bookshelf neighbors.

Very easy to follow for basic instructions. If you're a programmer, get something else.This is one that a basic WordPress user would probably benefit from, just easy-to-follow instructions for how to use the Dashboard and so forth.

Excellent summary about using Wordpress

A friend handed me this book (so, I'm not a verified purchaser) and told me this is the most worthless book he's seen on the subject. Always willing to take a look at something that didn't cost me anything... I'll cut to the chase... This book is worthless. I'm now here on Amazon looking for something substantive and thought I'd stop by and let others know not to waste their money on this one.

Unfortunately, this is NOT a beginner's guide. If you ARE a beginner choose another book.

I am a University Lecturer who has just set this text as required reading for my undergraduate students in terms of setting up thier assessed blogs. Thats how good it is. Using it myself, as inexpereinced with Word Press, I found it informative, clear and with good 'step by step' instructions to get you started. There are incredibly clear headings and illustrations, along with a writing style which is accessible and understandable for the most IT illiterate. It's well designed, easy to navigate and presumes no prior knowledge - yet at the same time gives ideas and examples for taking functionality further. Outside of a university context the book also covers a host of plug ins and useful tips, as well as additional Word Press functionalities entirely appropriate for a range of contexts. It is affordabe and does the job more than enough - I cannot reccommend this book enough!

Given that the author is UK based, I would have expected him to know that his recommended way of hosting Wordpress, Hostgator, cannot host .co.uk domains. Having said that, it has taken Hostgator several months to work out that this was the problem. So, if you have a co.uk domain do NOT choose Hostgator.Other than that, the book looks good, but as I'm still waiting to set up my wordpress site, five months on, because of the Hostgator issue, I can't say any more than that.

Easy to read and understand, would recommend for anyone looking to set up their own Wordpress website, hosted or not.

As with all the easy steps books it gives easy, clear adviive with out being condescending.

Very useful and saves constant clicking around on the Wordpress site to get help.
