First time using epoxy and it came out great!
I've never used epoxy before - I've always been a "heavy coats of poly" finisher. It has looked good, but never particularly great. I was building a low-use bar in our house and I figured "what the heck, let me try my hand at epoxy". I shopped around, but saw the website and watched a couple of videos on how to use TotalBoat's product and I figured I'd try it out. I started with hevea wood butcher block counter tops and I first used a poly and stain product. It was a disaster, so I sanded it off. The bright side is that I think enough remained where it closed the wood grain pretty well. Once it was off, I used a standard oil-based stain, and once dry, covered that with a water based poly coating. I let that dry and then sanded it smooth. Once it felt ready, I opened the two-part epoxy kit from TotalBoat (it showed up overnight, which was cool), read the directions thoroughly, and decided to go for it. I first did a two-quart batch of epoxy, mixing well for three minutes, then pouring that mix into another container and mixing again for another three minutes. I tested it out on the far corner of the countertop and once things didn't go south, I used the rest of it. Two quarts allowed me to do about six square feet. I then made a four quart batch, mixing it with the same process. That allowed me enough to cover the entire countertop, which was 11 feet long by 2 feet wide. To apply it, I used the TotalBoat scrapers, relying on the v-notched scraper the most for major movement of the epoxy from one area to the other. I used the flat edge scraper to gently bring epoxy onto the edge of the countertop. This was the only part that was messy...I'm VERY glad I had a pastic drop cloth covering the cabinets and the floor! Epoxy dripped everywhere! I had a torch ready for popping bubbles but I didn't see a single bubble on the entire countertop. I did look at the countertop in every direction and found several spots where the epoxy hadn't coated entirely. On some spots, I added a little more epoxy; on others, I used a brush and moved some neighboring epoxy to the empty spots. As the countertop dried, I used a brush to flatten the drips on underside of the edge, and that seemed to work well. One thing I also made sure of was the temperature. It's winter here and getting the overall temperature up to 70+ is a chore. I ended up buying an oscillating heating fan from the local big box store and that worked very, very well. I checked on the epoxy every hour or so to fix any drips and after about four hours, I removed my plastic sheeting so it wouldn't dry in place. I went to bed after five hours of checking, and in the morning...dang! It was not only hard to the touch, but GORGEOUS as well! I couldn't be happier with how it came out. I'm letting it cure for some more time before going back to work on the bar, but as it stands right now, it looks fantastic. For the recommended wording for this review, I'll leave a couple of notes. For clarity, it's perfectly clear. No issues or questions there. It's as clear as it's going to be. Value for the money is excellent. Sure, it's expensive, but the results are amazing! Smell? It had a bit, but not anything as bad as the stain I used, and it had less than the poly coating. Overall, I think this is a 10/10 product and I look forward to using it again!

Great stuff!
This epoxy is easy to mix, very clear and glossy, bubbles pop easily, levels out nice. Takes a while to harden enough to sand. 1 day is not enough to sand off a finish layer but works fine for rough fill and sand, 2 -3 days is best for finish sanding. Nice stuff.

Super happy with this. It was my first time doing epoxy, and it was super simple to use and came out great. I used a heat fun for the bubbles which I happen to have and worked well. I let it cure inside for a few days. It's perfectly clear and has a great sheen.

Feel ripped off, Packing issue
I probably would have really liked this product if it had been sealed and shipped correctly. One of the bottles had a corroded seal that left black gunk floating in the bottle. In addition, the inner box had the arrows correctly but the outer amazon box was packaged upside down, directing everyone to handle it in the wrong direction. This would be an excusable mistake if it could be returned, but the fact that you're left paying for their error is pretty lousy. From what I could use, it worked well on my counter. It leveled and cured quickly, eliminating a dust issue I was having with another brand. I used it with some molds as well and it works okay but there's a strong smell that hasn't gone away. It's not quite as glossy as another brand I used but my products came out with less imperfections (dust, bubbles, pulling), which is more important to me. The product really does seem good but being unable to use a lot of because of the with the way it came, I feel pretty ripped off. I think I'll buy another brand or directly from the company next time.

Great, beginner friendly product
I had never done a tabletop pour before but the product made it easy. Watch a few YouTube videos, mix well, make sure your surface is level, have all your stuff ready to go, and give it a try. I'm super pleased with the result. I don't have anything to compare it to but I have no regrets with the brand and will have no hesitation to purchase again.

Great Product
If you are an artist looking for a reliable and easy-to-use resin product, Tableboat resin might be just what you need. This product offers a high-quality finish that can make your artwork look more professional and polished. One of the best things about Tableboat resin is its ease of use. Unlike some other resin products on the market, Tableboat resin is designed to be user-friendly and forgiving, making it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced artists alike. The product has a low viscosity, which means that it flows easily and is less likely to create bubbles or other imperfections. Another great feature of Tableboat resin is its durability. Once it has cured, the resin creates a hard, clear coating that is resistant to scratches, UV light, and yellowing. This makes it an excellent choice for artwork that will be displayed in bright or sunny spaces, as it will maintain its clarity and color over time. Finally, Tableboat resin is versatile enough to be used for a wide range of applications, from coating and sealing artwork to creating jewelry, coasters, and other decorative items.

Excellent
Extremely satisfied with this resin. Put it through a vacuum chamber prior to application. I was a little anxious at first due to the presence of remaining very small bubbles and the high viscosity but after 12 hours, it was crystal-clear and totally devoid of any bubbles. Way superior product than my previous one bought in a big box store. Will definitely buy again.

Easy to work with, cures nice and clear as long as the pour is not above the recommended amount. Follow instructions and you will be happy.
