Nintendo patched this out so it no longer works.
This thing is straight up junk! Once updated and plugged in and following all instructions it still wouldn’t change to Zelda mode. Tried multiple compatible controllers both wired and wireless along with other trouble shooting suggestions all with no successes.I really wanted to enjoy this product but it’s my guess that Nintendo patched this device into obsoletion and the seller is just trying to make a fast buck and clearing inventory off unaware gamers.

A Practical and Affordable Accessory
After seeing an online review of this product I searched for it with the previous knowledge of knowing it's capabilities. The reviewer I watched tried multiple functions that this device provides, and did mention that they had issues with some, or other didn't work. Personally I purchased it mostly for the Pokemon benefits with farming eggs and such. I can say so far every function I have used with Pokemon Shield has worked as described and I have not been disappointed. For $25 I'm surprised that it does all it does for such a cheap price, but I am definitely not complaining! Since I just got a Nintendo Switch I have yet to pick up a secondary controller mostly due to the price of the JoyCon. This device can serve as a controller dongle so you can attach a PS4 or Xbox controller to it to use with the Switch. Obviously you don't have the motion abilities that the JoyCon or Pro controller have, but if you already have a controller laying around from a PS3 or Xbox 360 laying around as an extra controller, then it's not a bad device to have when wanting to play with additional people. I haven't tried connecting multiple controllers to it yet, but that is a function I plan on trying before I have a couple people over for the next night of Mario Kart. Now personally I'm just speaking from experience with the Pokemon functions on this device and the couple Animal Crossing functions, so if you plan to pick it up for Zelda, Super Mario Odyssey, or Fortnite, then you may want to watch some reviews first to ensure those functions work, but even if they don't it does have that secondary controller function. Personally I enjoy the PS4 controller so I've been enjoying be able to play games with that over the less comfortable JoyCon that came with the system.

Work as intended but for Switch in handheld mode with Xbox one controler it has minor hiccups.
Got exactly what was shown in the provided photos. I've only tried it with Fortnite and Pokémon Sword&Shield and so far I've loved it with one exception which is what bought this product a 4 star review with me. That would be Its use in Fortnite. It does work dont get me wrong. But it likes too automatically turn on mods itself sometimes both ones I've turned on myself at one point then at another point turned off myself and mods that ive still even to this day not even turned on (at least myself on my own will) to try out. And the last 2 things that have annoyed me the most and cost me my life in-game as well as match winning kill literally everytime I use it is how the device will tune itself out of fortnite mode and into another completely different game mode EVERY time a match is over or if I leave the match early rendering it usless until tuned back into Fortnite mode manually. That also is very annoying because sometimes I forget that it does it EVERY single time and when I jump back into another match right after due to being in a rush I forget that it has done that tunning out ordeal and it causes me either to get killed or almost get killed the second the heat is on and I'm facing off with an opponent. So I've had to try to train my brain to remeber to turn it back on each and every single new match but I forget alot like i said due to the excitment and rush of jumping into a new match. I dont know if it's the same for all different console remotes or if it's just for the console remote I'm using it with which is a (Non Pro version) standard Xbox One wirless remote. And this is always while using the switch up device while playing in handheld mode, I dont know if it has the same issues using it docked mode or not because I never have used it in docked mode and probably never will as I prefer handheld mode. Hopfully it can be something that can be fixed with a simple software update of the Switch Up device itself. Those little problems are the only reason I decided to rate this product with 4 stars. Other than that it is an awesome little machine and I love it.

weeeeellllllllll.........
At first this worked just fine. as described. after leaving it in my nintendo switch case for some time i thought that i woluld get it out and show it to a friend who recently acquired a switch. well that did not go as expected. over the past two days now i have been trying to figure out why it is not working as it should. i have tried connecting 2 completely different generations of xbox controllers to it with no luck. even after getting the latest firmware. as off right now this is nothing more than trash for me. instructional videos, how tos, even the manual has not helped.
