Dynamite light.
I just got this light, but I am very impressed so far. It has extreme, long-range brightness with power settings for two lower brightness levels. There is also a strobe option. There are about 3 ways to turn the light on: In addition to the button on the tail, there is a button near the head of the light which allows for the different power settings after those settings have been "programmed" from the tailpiece. It's relatively easy to program -- just follow the simple instructions in the manual... The light came with the rechargeable battery pack PLUS the battery pack with 2 disposable 123 batteries. Changing them is easy. There is also a charger for car charging. The wall charger has several different adaptors (for charging in foreign countries, etc.).. There is a power light to let you know when the battery is getting weak. The battery pack doesn't have to be removed from the light to charge; there is a plug in the side of the light for that... It seems rugged, strong, durable and has rubber O-rings to prevent water penetration. (This is NOT a SCUBA light, though). My one concern is whether I will be able to get replacement rechargeable packs for it; they are not available so far, apparently not even from Surefire. I expect the after-markets to be selling those soon, however.

Blinding tactical light.
Some people say I'm crazy for spending $400 on a flashlight. This light is blindingly bright. Using it as a tactical light is what this flashlight was made for. If my life depended on it this light will perform . You can even program the light as to how you want it to perform when using the endcap switch. The only part of this light that I don't like is when you use regular cr23 batteries the max output drops from 1000 lumens to 500 lumens. I guess in a pinch it would be ok at 500 lumens . One other point is that I haven't been able to locate an aftermarket lithium ion battery for this light. Other than those two small concerns this is an awesome light. Also purchased a kydex holder that is custom fit for this flashlight. I see myself using this light for years to come.

... the customer service with Surefire has been a huge disappointment. The first flashlight I purchased on Dec
This product as well as the customer service with Surefire has been a huge disappointment. The first flashlight I purchased on Dec. 25th, by February would not charge properly.I sent back to Surefire in March as was told my order would be expedited as I am LEO and use it daily. After a month plus no flashlight. After calling a replacement was sent. The new product will spontaneously come on and do a great job of illuminating me while in my duty belt. The only way I can get it to turn off is to pull the battery. This happened in roll call one day and you can imagine how many other officers were interested in a flashlight that does that at the price point Surefire demands. Because of the time frame. I am stuck with dealing with Surefire again because Amazon will not except a return on the item any longer. The light is bright and casts a wide beam but I have a very sour taste in my mouth from the experience. I can only hope that Surefire will do me better on this go round with customer service and I am not stuck with a $400.00 paper weight. On another note the price on this product has dropped almost $90.00 since I ordered. Could be a clue.

Great flashlight choice
This is a really great flashlight, plenty of light power, well balanced, useful first-on options, nicely integrated center spot with adequate peripheral lighting. Takes several hours to charge. I'm just glad they are decreasing in price from when first released. Only real complaint is that the battery can't be procured anyplace but from SureFire. If anyone has found a source, please post it.

Adult Flash Light - Kid Fun!
I have a handful of 60 lumen Surefires, a couple of 120 lumen led lights in my cars and an old Aviator that I use for my night photography trips. Finally moved up to something serious and this R1 Lawman does NOT disappoint. Main use is to light up the front and backyard when I take the dogs out. The low setting at 15 lumens is fine. When I need the full 1000 lumens, a simple push of the tail cap is like calling in the airship for support. Shining at full power toward light colored walls at 60-80 feet will distract me, let alone if I'm aiming at someone's face. It was fun the first few nights driving around lighting stuff up from the car. I take this flashlight along all the time. Walk the dogs? check! Supermarket? Honey I'll wait in the car! I was playing with it in a movie theater!

Flashlight was great, rechargeable 1000 lumen flashlight
Flashlight was great, rechargeable 1000 lumen flashlight. Expensive and known brand. Used it everyday, until the day it wouldn't charge anymore. Bought a pelican, half the price and hasn't failed me yet.

Last flashlight you will ever buy.
I have been a cop for 9 years in NYC. This is the best flashlight I have ever used and I am pretty sure I will never use another flashlight again. Worth every penny.

R1 Lawman rechargeable is the bomb!!
Great flashlight, used daily for night walks with our pooches. Found we use the lowest setting for 90% of the flashlight use. Love the max brightness switch in the end cap button, quick and easy. Great battery....... What can I say. You get what you pay for on the price. Buy with confidence.
