Great razor. Great price!
Great razor!Wow! I had no expectations, but I love everything about this razor. I’ve been using safety razors for about 20 years. Had plenty of well known hits and misses. I currently have 2 Merkurs, including a Factur. This shaves every bit as good, if not better. Great weight, love the handle crosshatch and it’s just a simple, stunning design. Not sure about these people cutting off their skin?? If that’s the case they just don’t know how to use it. The weight and a light touch is how to shave.

Quite a buy for the money - and aggressive/efficient to boot!
Background: I've been using double-edge razors for nearly 15 years, and have easily tried more than 60 products available (or once available) on the market, from inexpensive plastic imports to $200+ super razors (or at least advertised as such). These days, I've more or less standardized my 3-pass approach on mild or medium razors, generally opting for a Feather blade (the Porsche of blades in my experience) to maximize efficiency and performance. Picking the Zomchi up on a lark, its sweet design caught my eye. It has side blade protection (nice), good weight, and also - as I noticed - a good deal of blade exposure and gap, indicating that it would seem to fit under the "aggressive" category.Popping in a Nacet blade (my second choice to Feather, and also my choice for new razors), I could tell the shave was immediately efficient and aggressive - 4 days of whiskers disappeared with no sound or feeling, but I did carve off a skin bump and also ended up with some weepers (after rarity for me these days) trying to perform my regular 3-pass shave. Nevertheless, the shave itself was so efficient that I contemplated my next shave - 3 days later, a face full of hard growth, and this time I went for a 2-pass shave with only touch-ups. MUCH better - just as smooth as the 3-pass version, but only one weeper and just minor irritation in one area on my neck that often needs buffing to get clean. I also noted that my "against the grain" shave on my mustache area - which usually requires both a WTG and XTG pass or I'll experience weepers - didn't require the XTG this time. That's a first for any razor I've owned, including the incredibly efficient iKON Tek and Muhle R41 razors (the earlier versions of the R41). It's possible I'm just getting better at face prep and lather than I was years ago, so I'll have to go back to those razors and see if I can replicate the outcome.I'll likely transition back to Feather (and probably try their provided DE blades too), but this is clearly a very well made, efficient tool that does benefit from a bit of a deft hand (experience) to ensure you maximize performance vs. safety. If you're new to DE shaving, keep a light touch - "like shaving a balloon" - and ensure you have a good, wet, slick lather that provides the needed lubrication. This is an absolute bargain IMO and I'll enjoy having it in my rotation.

Great value great shaves.
This is a nice razer , it shaves close and has a nice positive feel to handle. It shaves better than the butterfly type old school razer. no slipping and the stand is a nice plus . Not bad .

Extremely well made - old tech questionable
I’m impressed by the quality of this old style safety razor. It’s very solid and a little heavy, but that feels good to me. The finish looks perfect. I’m very sorry it doesn’t work as well as I expected. I’ve been using it around 6 weeks. It pulls and irritates my skin. Here is what I’ve learned. The angle of the razor is important. Assume I’ve figured out optimal angle. I typically shave every 2-3 days. That much growth is painful and bloody to shave with this razor. With shave gel. I’m not dry shaving. Using hot soap and then hot damp towels to soften my beard helps but still not pleasant. I was using Gillette sensitive shave gel and switched to Nivea on a tip. I’m greatly impressed with the Nivea gel. The longer I continue, the more my skin toughens and my pain tolerance increases. But that curve is starting to flatten out. I figured out the biggest tip is to knock down the beard with an electric shaver first. The razor doesn’t pull nearly so bad then. So why use the razor if you’re going to use the shaver first? Because the razor gives you a much superior shave. I believe this razor gives a better shave than my old disposable razor. But I’m not sure the small difference is worth it. It’s the best shave but it requires a lot of extra steps to be comfortable. I’d say the newer disposable technology is good enough when I want to get civilized and the electric shaver good enough most other days. I still like the idea of the retro safety razor. My father had one. He taught me to shave with it. So I’ll probably keep using it on special occasions.

Great razor -- if you have the hand dexterity of a heart surgeon
Every time I use this product my bathroom looks like the backseat of the car that Winston Wolf helped Travolta and Jackson clean up in pulp fiction. I am giving it five stars because it DEFINITELY does the job removing facial hair (along with a good percentage of the adjacent skin), and as a bonus it is very easy to wash the blood off of it! So if you are a professional video game player or you replace gears in old-timey pocket watches for a living, then this is the razor for you! If you have acne dial 911 prior to use.

Adjust her and boom perfection
You'll read these reviews and find a very mixed bag.... Some love the razor and others get massacred by it without reason. Tiny bit of detail that will help EVERYONE buying this thing.... The handle end with the threads has a tiny adjustment Allen set screw. Mine was set on Freddy Krueger from the factory...a couple turns with the Allen wrench and aggressiveness perfection.Otherwise finish is pretty stunning and the handle is plenty grippy (a complaint some have but seriously it's a sharp tool try holding it like one.) Blades seem on par with Wilkenson Sword but still won't hold a candle to a Feather.
