A well-made reliable surge protector to give you peace of mind. Cover may not fit some handles.
I have read many review on a variety of surge protectors and brands for RVs, and Progressive Industries seems to come out on top each time (or at least in the top 3). It is on the bulky side (which is not an issue), but not too heavy. The instructions are clear easy to follow and provides convenient error codes on the side of the device. It is built for handling the weather and has a good weatherproof *cover.*note: the latest clear weatherproof covers should be even deeper to accommodate some newer RV handles. I have a 2021 Leisure travel Wonder power cord, which is 3" tall - too tall for even the latest covers (about 1/2" more space needed). I had to use their extra kit (for another model) to modify my housing to have room for my plug handle with the clear cover down. I used 3M double sided tape to attach to the original housing edge, and cutting out part of the bottom to the kit piece. It looks a bit bulkier now, but at least the plug handle fits. (see pics)It comes with a security collar attached to prevent theft at parks. The fact it protects against low and high voltage, reverse polarity, open neutral, open ground, AC frequency protection, and accidental 240V protection, gives one peace of mind when plugging in.My RV actually came with a built in surge EMS protector from Progressive Industries, but is not easy to access to see the display when hooking up at a site. I don't really require this external SP, but I just prefer to have the redundancy, and I can easily monitor the status if anything happens. I could also have just used a Progressive Industries tester for the pole before hooking up. Less expensive, but no redundancy. It's all preference :).Also, their customer service is amazing and will do all they can to address any questions or issues.

It Works Well and Provides Total Protection, but Can Be Difficult to Install
I installed this in my RV two weeks ago and it is working well. The unit is smaller than I expected (certainly smaller than the Surge Guard hardwired surge suppressor) and this presents a few potential advantages and drawbacks. On the plus side it has a small footprint, important for my RV. The remote display also takes up very little space and, with the long data cable provided, is easily attached to a convenient place in your compartment. Mine is attached with velcro next to my compartment door opening. On the minus side it is a bit harder to get the input and output cables properly attached to lugs that are have slightly smaller openings than the Surge Guard. It is especially difficult to get the output wires through the two current coils, attached to the lugs, the lid screwed down. I found it easier to attach my cables before installing the unit. One of the features I really like is the bypass switch on the remote display. If the unit fails you can bypass it using this switch. Given the choice of an internal or external surge suppressor I chose internal to make it theft proof. I don't think the external Progressive Industries unit provides enough anti-theft security. This also as a problem with the external Surge Guard, but less so if you add their lock box. Progressive Industries offers a lifetime warranty and excellent support. Surge Guard also has good support but a limited warranty. The EMS-HW50C also provides total protection. I didn't compare this to the Surge Guard specs, so they may or may not be the same. Progressive Industries is also less expensive. I replaced the Surge Guard transfer switch on my previous RV with an upgraded model with surge protection and it worked fine. The Surge Guard transfer switch on my current RV does not include that level of protection and the manufacturer recommended adding a separate surge protector to the system. Both Surge Guards on my previous RV developed a loud and objectionable hum which Surge Guard says is normal and not covered under warranty. I don't know if that will happen with the EMS-HW50C, but the contactor is made by a different company. Should you add high end surge protection to your RV? You may never need it, but then again you might. I have stayed in two RV park sites that had miswired pedestals and several where pedestals were being repaired.

Working good
I had my electrician install this as he was doing the 30V for our new RV. Easily plugged right in. Been no issues with it. It's heavy. I check it periodically and it's been working well.

Great product !
A great product and good value . I got it on sale at about $200. A lot cheaper than buying a similar product locally. Some electrical knowledge is needed for installation. The instructions are very good and some videos on youtube are good too.

RV is protected from any issues dealing with electrical hookup!
EMS was installed by RC Centre and has worked great. Relieved I don’t have to worry about making sure surge protector is plugged in.

Already have protected my RV on my first trip
Really good product at a decent price. It have already protected my RV from voltage below 115 on ny first trip. I highly recommand this product to all RV owner. No so easy to connect the big gauge cable inside of it, but with extra time and patiance it is doable.
