Worked for me to get rid of drain flies!
I've lived in my place for 20 years and suddenly drain flies appeared in my kitchen sink -- I had never seen them before. I believe they got started in drain sludge that must have accumulated over time (the sludge was not think enough to slow the drain, but evidently was thick enough to harbor drain flies). First, I used Drano, it helped, but did not completely eliminate the flies. So after a couple weeks, I ordered this product. After a two days of using it, the flies were completely gone. The flies have now been absent for a couple days. If the flies reappear, I will update this review.Note that I have followed up by using a drain snake to clean sludge in the horizontal drain pipe between the two drains in the kitchen sink -- but I only did that after all the flies were gone. I didn't find that much sludge in this horizontal pipe so maybe the culprit sludge was further down the line. BTW, I used FlexiSnake Millipede drain snake which I highly recommend for sludge cleaning since it's "bristley" (if that's a word!) -- but the Millipede snake is not very long so I may follow up and get a professional plumber to clean the full length of all my drains -- From reading many forum posts on the subject, I understand that cleaning out sludge is the most effective way of really getting rid of drain flies. However, short of that, this product worked quickly for me and was a lot cheaper. I'll save my pennies and have all my drains professionally desludged in a couple months.I used this product as follows on my kitchen sink: First, I squirted a couple ounces down 1) garbage disposal drain, 2) the other sink drain 3) bottom of dishwasher (don't forget that -- since it's a possible home of drain sludge). I then poured just a couple ounces of water down each drain -- enough to wash the gel into the drain, but not enough to overly dilute it. I put silicone mats over both sink drains (the kind you can use to cover bowls in the microwave). I also closed the dishwasher tight and put tape over the little opening of the dishwasher overflow which is next to the tap on the sink (if you do this -- don't forget to remove the tape later). I did this to trap any flies and keep the fumes in so they would effectively "gas" the flies and any larvae. Don't worry, the "fumes" are not strong or noxious at all -- just a mild orange odor that dissipates quickly, but I think these mild fumes may be effective against drain flies when confined to the drain. I left this set up overnight without running any water. Then I flushed the drains and repeated. So far, so good -- no flies. I may do this every month if I'm disciplined! Cheers -- and best of luck getting rid of your drain flies!

Seems effective so far.
Had worse than usual fruit and drain flies. Even though I don’t use the garbage disposal I k is there’s still a build up since the dishwasher line is attached to it. Have used a few times now down both sink drains and have seen a significant decrease of bugs. Smells decent, not too chemically, which is nice. Would rather have just a screw off top versus spigot style, can’t close without getting some on hand. Only real complaint was packaging, which is more on Amazon than product - was in a box with other items, no padding and no bag around bottle to help prevent leaks.

I first got this product last summer because the gnats were so out of control in our kitchen and living room. The vinegar was not working. It worked right away to start reducing the numbers of gnats. I used a second dose, and they were all the way gone. And now, in July of this year, we have had zero gnats. Literally none. Not only does this work, it keeps working. If we get the bugs again, I won’t think twice before buying this again!

It is not orange
I have bought this product a few times and have been happy with it but this time it is clear not orange. The orange product works well, very good in fact but I have no idea on how the clear will work. I especially like the orange because one of the many uses is I use it on the drain lines on my air conditioner, with the color I can see that I have added enough to the unit. With it being clear I am not going to be sure. The price isn't enough to make me want to return it but because I live a long way from anyplace. I am very, very disappointed. I was not out of my last bottle so I haven't opened the new bottle yet.

Goodbye drain flies!
I had the drain flies that flew up from hell and inundated my kitchen and the rest of my place. They even made their way into my fridge and freezer! Any time I would eat they harassed me and I felt unwelcome in my own home. I bought this after reading the reviews. Treated all my drains in the home including the tub. The next day i noticed a big difference in the amount of demons flying around. I retreated a week later and I haven't seen any. I will gladly treat my drains every month now. I also keep a drain cover over the side that has the garbage disposal which seems to be the gateway. I say try it. Worked for me.

Well worth the money - Unclogged my drain and got rid of gnats and drain flys
I paid a bit extra to get this fast. Glad I did. I have a sink in the basement that draws all sorts of bugs since some earthquakes and torrential rains damaged my basement. I discovered the sink was clogged up and I saw what I now know was a long wing coming out the top.I plunged it out and the water started to run. Thought it was unclogged. Not so. So when I got this stuff, I followed the directions and left in in two days. Went down this morning and figured it would still be clogged since the reviews said this was not for clogs. But turned the hot water on, ready to plunge again, but this time the water ran great, constantly and I looked down at the hole in the basement floor where the water drains and it was coming out perfectly. So I can only tell you that so far, I'm more than happy. I hate dealing with plumbing and bugs and mice and all that stuff. But, when you own a house, you never know what you are going to run into and you may have to deal with it yourself.I also saw a gnat come out of my bathroom drain. So, I treated it. Left it covered all night. So far, no more gnats. It smells great and is non-toxic. It's safe for the pipes and plumbing but seems to do the job. So, at least so far, I highly recommend this product and will certainly buy it again.
