I like these screws. The finish is nice and the price is very low. However, you get what you pay for. You absolutely have to drill pilot holes for these. The head is not strong enough to withstand the pressure without holes and even a hand screwdriver will destroy the phillips head. Luckily I always drill pilots with a countersink so this is a moot point but I would like the convenience to not have to do that sometimes.These will not tap through bronze, so the core metal is very weak, whatever it is. For 5 bucks I can't complain, any more I would have returned them.

Screws are not bronze. They are bronze colored steel (magnetic).

I needed antique bronze looking screws to match corner protectors on the box I'm building, and these are exactly what I wanted.They're great for hardwood. Not sure about softwood, as the thread is quite dense.
