Quality wooden bento box, medium size
I bought this box to make my simple lunches more of a special event. It is very enjoyable to eat a meal out of this box. This is an excellent simple wooden bento box. In inches, it measures 7 inches along the top, 5 inches wide, and inside, it is 1.75 inches deep. A good size to hold in one hand or between two hands. It has a divider inside which is loose, to separate the box into three sections. The divider does not go all the way to the top; it is only 1.5 inches. The finish of the wood is smooth and pleasant; there is only a clean smell of wood (no smell of any chemicals). The lid, which is not tight fitting, is held on by a black elastic band that is included. The band seems sturdy and durable. I've used the box several times and had no leak problems. It came clean easily. It is very lightweight but seems sturdy. The box including the strap weighs 5.5 ounces. The box will easily hold a one cup serving of rice with room for a topping and two small side vegetables. The side portions measured by the divider are pretty small -- for example two or three small broccoli florets or one cut up carrot. The divider is movable though, so you could move it or leave it out all together if you want larger side portions.I usually line the lid with a wax cloth (or could use parchment paper) to keep the contents a little more securely pressed down into the box. I'm not absolutely sure that is necessarily but I don't want to risk leaking. The box would not be suitable to hold a soup or something very liquid, as the lid is not tight fitting -- but the box itself is tight and does not leak.

Perfect size for work lunch
I’ve always wanted a wooden bento for aesthetic reasons. Found this one had prime delivery so decided to try it out. This was just the right size for me for lunch, I even had some food left over. It may not seem like you can fit much but it is a bit deeper than most bento boxes, another reason why I love it, it’ll be perfect for packing items a bit taller like sandwiches that are cut in half. If you’re worried about getting the bento box dirty then you can line the bottom with parchment paper or cupcake liners to make it easier to clean later. I used a Saran Wrap to cover the food then placed the lid and elastic band and it kept everything in tact. Secret to packing bento, fill in all spaces so items won’t shift during transportation. When I got to work, everything looked the way it did when I packed it.

Very Pretty but Porous.
The only dislike I have is that the interior seems like it will mold after a lot of use. It’s a bit porous, and has warped a little at the bottom. I’ve had it for 3 months now and it gets used 5 days a week, and using parchment paper or wax paper to protect the wood. I figure I will replace it every six months or so.

Good Bento-Style Box
I must not have read the description well; I thought it was made in Japan, but it is not, but rather from China. At first I was sorely disappointed, but I settled into overall satisfaction because it really is made of Cryptomeria, the workmanship is fine and there is no indication at all of the odor of lacquers, varnish or other wood finish. I took a lunch of sushi rolls to work, brought the box home and washed it gently by hand in mild soap and water, dried it by hand; it is no worse for the wear.It wish it was an authentic Japanese bento box from a renown and venerable bento box maker, but the price would have been a great deal more than what I paid for this perfectly acceptable and nicely made bento box.

Wooden Lunch Bento Box, small in sized wonderful to look at and eat from
Wooden Lunch Bento Box, It is beautiful to look at or hold. For me it is the right size for lunch. After it gets warmer outside will pack it for a picnic.Suggest lining inside areas with plastic wrap or wax paper. That would keep the light colored wood from getting dis-colored or stained with the food(s) it holds plus, making clean up even easier.

stylish yet simple
beautifully made, however it must need scrap to hold it together. the top doesn't fit tightly onto the top, but is typical for a Japanese style bento. it does seems to be as durable as it appears. and looks stylish yet simple design, completely environmentally safe

Pretty
I really like this bento, It has a nice design along with a good overall quality. I think its important to note that its pretty small, I like the size of it but dont expect something really big or above mid-average size. Im excited to use it :)
