Ancient Egyptian Magic: A Hands-On Guide

Very well written and engaging
I don't know if this book should necessarily be titled ' A hand's on guide' because that could give some the impression that this is a user friendly spell book when in reality it is a superbly researched history and examination on Ancient Egyptians and their relationship with magic. There are many interesting facts and stories contained within this book. The author's descriptions of the use of magic is so detailed and fascinating especially accompanied by a generous amount of pictures. If you are interested in ancient egypt or in magical studies this is a very fun book and a solid resource one I will probably re-read.

love it!
I stumbled upon this book while shopping online and was immediately drawn to it. ive never even heard of this author and usually i won’t buy something unless it has stellar reviews.. But i kept this book in my cart and waited until it was available for purchase because i’ve been fascinated with egypt since i was a little girl, and lately magic has spiked my interest too so i couldn’t pass up a book specifically about egyptian magic lol. the book’s cover quality is awesome, the size feels perfect in my hands and so far i like the author’s writing. If this particular subject spikes your curiosity then i highly recommend it. i’ve never seen a book like this one before and i read A LOT. i hope the author makes more books like this one because i’d certainly buy more.

An interesting mixture
I bought this not exactly knowing what to expect, it was quite a pleasant surprise. The book is an excellent mix of actual archaeology as well as some do-it-yourself for the home magical practitioner without taking itself too seriously.Worth the read!

A good quick intro book for the general public.
This is a relatively short, nicely written and edited, small in size book. It's a good introductory book on the subject. The subtitle of "A Hands-on Guide" is misleading. The author does not give you any practice exercises in applying magic spells. She does give some recipes for potions and some texts of spells or prayers to be recited but no instructions as to how they should be applied. With dozens of pages of illustrations and printed in clear, double-spaced type face, this book is quick, easy read. Because of some opinionated faux pas in the last chapter of the book (p 192,193) I gave it a rating of four stars, not five. Regardless of that, I do readily recommend it.
