A different bad plate would possibly help instillation.
The positioning of the screw holes means you end up going in at a pretty extreme angle and so they don’t sit flush to the plate. It only effects the esthetics close up and is not a big enough issue to prevent me from enjoying them.

Beautiful but I can’t use them!
The angle that these curtain hooks sit at in comparison to the wall is much too far and not realistic to use in our case. Anyone walking by will impale themselves on these beautiful hooks. We are going to use them to hang plants instead! Very beautiful though!!

Didn't try to install so I can't rate ease of installation. Holdback sticks out so far from wall as to impale anyone who tries to walk past it. If you don't have large rooms where you don't need to walk close to the window, don't by it!Metal is not bendable. Description should include the distance the item protrudes from the wall when installed.
