This item arrived just ahead of a heat wave, and I was thrilled that it was here just in time. If only I knew then what I knew now.Upon unpacking the item, I realized that the exhaust hose was very poorly made. Screwing the fitting onto the end caused the plastic down the tube to tear, meaning I had to patch it before ever turning it on. In addition, the fitting on the end didn't fit the piece meant to go in the window very well. When the first two steps require large amounts of duct tape, it's a bad sign.The unit itself doesn't actually cool very effectively. Supposedly, it's a 16,000 BTU unit. I have a 5,000 BTU unit that keeps the same area considerably cooler. This unit also won't stay running for more than an hour before it's leaking everywhere and shuts off because the reservoir is full. I suppose I should say reservoirs, because there is a drain about 30 inches off the ground, and one that I can't fit a regular kitchen plate under. The unit is impossible to drain without lifting it off of the ground, and if you move it at all, it spills everywhere. DO NOT USE ON CARPET!Amazon was kind enough to refund my money on this one yesterday, so I thought maybe I'd give it a go for another day to see if it was worth the headache. It wasn't. It's currently sitting on the side of the road with a free sign, 4 days after it arrived. I feel bad for the poor soul that picks it up and expects it to cool their house. Hopefully they have flood insurance, because there's going to be water everywhere.No matter what you do, don't buy this piece of junk. Amazon should be embarrassed that it's even available on their website.

The unit didn’t cool as one would expect from 16,000 BTU. We have stored unit and went back to a 10,000 BTU window unit that we had hoped to remove. It cools less than another 12,000 BTU similar unit of a different brand that was purchased for a bedroom.

I am updating my original review. I bought two units, one of which requires water be drained, the other which does not. I thought that the one which required draining had an issue given that the other unit does need to be drained when on AC mode. I believe this may be due to location of each - one on each floor and the level of humidity or maybe heat outside varying. Whatever the cause for the condensation, had I known this would be a need I would have opted for a window unit. I also think window units cool more efficiently. In general, these are not terrible portable units - they do cool. Window units just seem to do it better and with less hassle, if your home/windows can accommodate.

I purchased this product and it ran well for approximately 1 month. I contacted the seller and have been attempting to reach an agreement with them since the product no longer works. The customer service is worse than the air conditioner itself! It has been absolutely ridiculous trying to get this taken care of. They don't contact me. They won't return calls. They email back and blame covid for the delays (there was no delay in charging me). One person will say they are replacing the product. Another person says they'll be refunding me. In the meantime absolutely nothing happens! I'm stuck with a broken air conditioner sitting around because I don't know what to do with it and I'm out nearly $500.00. This is absolutely unacceptable and never again will I do business with household brands. They are not worth the effort and I will be sure to follow up with this until it's made right. Everyone else beware! Stay away from this air conditioner and household brands.

The media could not be loaded.  Loud, doesn’t cool, and horrible customer service. I sent the unit back with the promise of a replacement but have had NO communication since July 2022 despite multiple attempts to contact the company. $500 down the drain and no recourse. Hard to even figure out the real name of the company, seems like a shell game.Very frustrating and disappointing.

This unit is just not good at all. It does not even drop the temp in the room 1 degree. It keeps shutting off and it leaks water from the top. DO NOT BUY!!!!
