Good value. Purchased this 2nd unit as a replacement for another (same) awning when wears out/weathers in a few years.
Good value for the price. Provides excellent coverage for a medium sized deck/patio. Easy assembly. Reasonably sun resistant Sunbrella-like polyester awning material. Painted steel frame will rust if scratched. Cranks open easier than it closes but that's no big deal, and is the nature of the spring-assisted design. Have two folks minimum to move the box around before you open it - it's heavy ("two-man lift"). Check out the various color offerings and their prices - some colors are cheaper than others (likely relates to Amazon stocking levels). Legs can be bolted to deck surface for additional stability in light winds but recommend not using it in high winds for durability and safety (common sense...).We purchased this second unit as a back-up replacement for another (same) awning when the original awning cover or mechanism eventually wears out from weather exposure in a few years.

Waste of money poor quality
So very disappointedArrived with chipped paint...bent connection points. Missing screws...misaligned drilled holes for assemblyI would return it if I could ... it does crank opens easily...In order to close it you will need two to even turn the crank.It is top heavy - requires heavy bricks to keep it upright!Do not waste your money. I am so disgusted by this very expensive - ineffective - flimsy awning.

Don't know if I caught a glitch on the price or something, but I couldn't find a standalone basic umbrella for anything more than a $70 difference and this is vastly superior to all of those. Easy assembly (did it by myself in about 30 minutes); easy use and very sturdy even in relatively high winds. Perfect alternative to a awning mounted to the side of a house/building.
