Slightly mediocre high definition but decent night vision and app control
This camera is a budget product - but it still performs admirably considering its low price.Setup was pretty easy with the Android app (though you do have to set up a Xiaomi account) and once linked, live monitoring (with naff quality audio if desired) is possible. Adjustable stand tilts up or down.OTA upgrading the camera firmware to the latest was also simple once connected to the app. Connecting one of the two cameras to wifi took slightly longer, I ended up having to reboot the camera and take another image of the QR code displayed in the app for it to correctly join the wifi network.I have endurance SD cards in both of mine to record clips or constantly record, as well as push a copy of the recording to a network storage device. You can set sensitivity regions for the motion alerts, and it attempts to discern between motion and a person. Most of the time it gets this right, and push notifications indicate this (which due to Android power saving restrictions, unless you override this, now only come through if you open the app). Reviewing recordings on the camera also shows the different classifications.Reviewing clips is easy via the app and you can adjust the motion sensitivity of each quadrant of the camera image. The very wide angle lens is very helpful, and both day and night performance is acceptable. I actually disable the IR LEDs (by disabling night mode) as the sensor's low light performance is fine without them, and if they're looking out of a window all you can see is bounce from the IR LEDs anyway. The sensor is good enough to see in colour even at night, albeit at a lower frame rate.Regarding frame rate - the quoted 20 fps is probably fair. The devices stream at almost 25 fps, but they occasionally drop frames or stutter, I suspect it's due to the chipset processing power. Definition is not as crisp as that of an expensive CCTV with bigger optics, but it's still serviceable. Don't expect to read many number plates or zoom in for fine details of a person's face, but the video quality is good enough for everyday use.The cameras also have a two-way communication feature which I played with for fun but isn't really worth bothering with. Perhaps useful for a hallowe'en prank!Glad I picked a couple of these up, the app is simple to use, they'll run off any micro USB power supply and the quality is fine for additional or confidence monitoring.

All round good camera just could work on motion detection more
Sometimes it will send you an alert of a person detected from the slightest motion.

Notification issues, otherwise a good product
Night vision works like a charm.Picture quality is very good and the wide angle lens really helps.Design is very good, modern and minimal, and build quality as well is better than the cheap no-brand Chinese cameras. You can use a micro SD to store the footage, or if without microSD it will just allow for live streaming and will collect only a short video (less than 10 seconds) when movement is detected, and store it in the cloud for a week. However, there are two major issues:- the UI in Xiaomi Home looks extremely outdated, I've got another Xiaomi security camera that I use in the same app, but the UI is completely different- the app just isn't reliable to send notifications when motion is detected, which makes the entire purpose of the camera pointlessUPDATE 17 July 2020: the camera plugin in the Xiaomi app received an update that aligned the UI to the one of newer cameras. The notification issue kind of still persists, they've got better and are more on time than months ago, but still sometimes they are delayed until you open the app.

PICTURE QUALITY IS TERRIBLE - READ MORE!
If you need a good but cheap camera stay away from this one. Get even cheaper but miles better Mi Home 360 dome camera. There is no way that this camera is 1080! I have 3x 360 Mi Home cameras and they are great and cost only £34 this one is £4 more expensive and have a much worst lens! I purchased this camera only because it is very flat and I wanted to see the front of my house, but this camera doesn't even see Registration plates, the pictures is so bad.I can't believe the other good feedbacks here. Yes of course as every Mi Home camera this camera has a lot of features which I won't mention here, because the picture quality is the first feature you should start with, buying a security camera.I have their Roborock E25 robotic hoover and it is amazing Mi Home 360 dome camera is also amazing, but this one is.... ehhh just stay away.
