Well build and simple
Great bar. I like the simple but sturdy design. I ended up installing it on the wall instead of the ceiling, and it worked great. I am 210 lbs, and the bar holds me with ease. I strongly recommend this bar.

Perfect for 8' ceilings!
In my spare bedroom I have a workout room setup. I needed a way to do pull ups with P90x3, and I HATE the bars that mount to door frames. I wanted something to mount to the ceiling but not be so low that I had to bend my legs a lot to do pull ups. I have 8ft ceilings so I started researching and came across this. Yes the bar is perfect for an 8ft ceiling. It would be fine for a 9ft one as well but you will have to jump to reach it. I'm 5'8" and I can touch the bar with my fingers flat footed. The bar is very sturdy and very well built. I took a lot of time finding the joists. One thing I did was peak in my attic to see which direction they run. I then used an electronic stud finder to locate the joists. Marked them off and I made a very thin pilot hole to make sure I was dead center. Once lined up I did another test drill on the other side of the bar it was exactly 48"OC. The bar is secure and is not going anywhere. If you need a pull up bar this is highly recommended. EDIT: It's been about 2 1/2 years and still really enjoy the bar. I wrapped it with hockey tape which helped my hands from feeling so sore. My wife is now 5 months pregnant which means my workout room is now going to become the nursery. Thankfully i'm building a very large man shed and the pull up bar is going in there. I have been using the bar to help me stretch. Since it's an 8' ceiling I can easily reach it and hang to stretch my back, shoulders, and arms. I still highly recommend this.

Great Pull-Up Bar!
Excellently product! The bar would have fit my ceiling jousts in the garage, but I wanted it oriented in the other direction... so I simply added some braces between the joists and mounted it to the braces with the supplied hardware. Even with that little modification, this thing really is solid!! I don't plan on doing "kipping" pull-ups on this, but I have no doubt it would have no problem accommodating that for a guy my size (200ish lbs). It was very easy to install. Including the trip to the hardware store to get the extra 2x6, cutting them to size, measuring and securing them between the joists, and installing the pull-up bar....took about two hours in total. About the only thing I could possibly complain about is the surface of the bar... I wish it had a little bit more "grip" or knurl. It's fine if your hands are dry... but the bar will be very slippery with any moisture. But I'll wrap the bar in some athletic tape or get some chalk and I'm sure it will work great. Overall, really happy with this pull-up bar!

Glad I bought it!
I returned a doorway pull-up bar and bit the bullet for this one. I'm glad I bought it. It's probably a little over-priced for what it is hence the 4 start review, but it's very well made with nice welds and paint. It's very solid once mounted to the ceiling and looks great. Ease of install is a little low for this type of pull up bar if you want it to be done right and look good (i.e. hit your ceiling joists on center and mount it parallel to the wall). It's mounted to a 9 foot ceiling. I am 6'2" and 205 lbs. I have to stand on a stool to grip the bar, but once I do I can do full length hangs without touching the floor which is fantastic! I use this for pull ups, chin ups, and leg raises both hanging by my arms as well as in slings. I would definitely recommend this pull up bar.

Solid pull up bad, no regrets in my purchase!
This pull up bar is worth it. Sturdy design, feels like quality steel, easy installation. No sway, no wobble, no clanking parts. Very happy with the purchase. To give others an idea of height from floor to ceiling, I’m 6’5” tall and hung it in the basement with 9’ ceilings. I can grab the bar and my feet touch the ground just slightly. (Tall guy problems) I would definitely recommend this product.

Sturdy and basic.
I installed a pull up bar using pipes from a hardware store previously. The issue was weakness at the pipe threads. Because I was concerned about getting injured, I shopped around and this was the only I could find for around 100$ that had a non-moving bar. I also wanted a simple single bar, not a double bar. The pros are it is easy to install, it doesn’t budge, even when I (accidentally) kip. I weight 220 pounds, so that says a lot. The bar is appropriate length and circumference for a proper grip. I am 5’7 and installed on 9 foot rafters it’s perfect. I need to hop up or use small step. This is good, as I don’t want my feet to touch the ground. The screws, nuts and bolts are correct. The disadvantage is it’s expensive for what it is, three pieces of painted metal and some nuts and bolts with a greasy wrench and hex.. The “wrench” is kind a joke, it It can be used. A drill bit would have been more useful. The grip is too smooth, like most pull up bars. Like most fitness equipment, grips are either too smooth, or knurled to the point they rip up your hands. I use tennis ratchet grips (it took six) to wrap it. It is probably a foot too wide, not an issue, as you could attach accessories to the extra space and do really wide pull ups. It would be helpful for it to include a cutout on the box for install. You definitely need another person or straps to install it. Time will tell, but it’s great so far. I do think it’s a bit expensive for what it is, but nothing else really compares. The inconveniences are minor, so would recommend.

Sleek and extremely sturdy!
Sleek look in our home gym and EXTREMELY sturdy once installed! I weigh over 200 lbs and this bar does not have any give whatsoever when I suspend my full weight from it. With the supplied hardware and going into ceiling studs, this bar will not budge. It did take a little longer than expected to install but that is only because I had to be 100% precise that I was going into the center of my studs. I would highly recommend using a good studfinder and/or getting into the attic to make sure you go into your studs. Great addition to our gym and I'm very happy with the way it looks!

This is a very sturdy pull up bar, easy to assemble as long as you have a drill with a hex attachment!
