Perfect for Large meals
This boiler was used to prepare pudding for a dish banana pudding. We needed to serve 50+ people and this was perfect. Quality was more than acceptable. Wood buy again. Function well, handle heat perfectly, material thickness on boiler was ideal, well design and ease to use.

Best double boiler on Amazon for the price
Absolutely wonderful for my cream of mushroom with seafood soup! I highly recommend and would definitely buy again.I bought the 8 qt. The listing on Amazon clearly states this is a 8 qt pot with a double boiler insert so I knew the size would be good. The listing also has info on the manufacturer, Winco. Notice the seller is Winware. Nothing out of the ordinary there. The pot is extremely strong and made my soup making a breeze. My husband is pleased because I will be making soup more often. Cleaned up beautifully. No more stacking my own pots.

Great pot but I needed the insert to be 10-12 quarts
Great, sturdy pot but I needed an insert with a larger size. Besides that, the only thing I didn't like was the size of the rims in the interior of the top pot - hard to clean. Good quality and reliable but the size was wrong for me and I'm not sure that the insert size was in the description online and it should have been.

Good cookpot....I think...
Just received so haven't cooked with it yet and so it hasn't withstood the test of time. Right out of box, though, nice stainless; feels heavy enough to last but not so heavy you can't heft it around the kitchen. I'm hoping the "six welds!" advertising for the handles means a good thing - they don't look very sturdy to me. It was the best price-for-size double boiler I found on Amazon, and they were all expensive (8 qt size), but that's to be expected for this size of this type product. I must have missed that it was made in China, but perhaps that doesn't mean anything.

Winware Stainless, a good buy
Really nice quality. I have some other brand that is much thinner. Lid seats well. Handles are reinforced and riveted. As close to seamless on the inside as i can find (they're ground flush). I purchased for use as a milk can. I put ice in the bottom, and keep the milk in the top pot until i'm done with milking. Have purchased a larger quart stock pot from same company for soups etc, and have used it for years. Same as new still. I think these are well made at a competitive price and a good buy.

Best double boiler ever
This set is nice and heavy so it doesn't feel like the pans are going to fall apart or the handles come off easily. The pieces fit together perfectly and it heats well enough to make melting chocolate for the chocolate covered peanut butter balls I make to be coated with ease. I can't wait to try some candy making with it :-)

Has anyone else noticed their bottom pot pitting? Mine is after only 1 use.
Though I ordered this double boiler pot in November, I only used it today. I used the bottom heavy bottom pot only, I did not use the top pot. From looking online the bottom heavy pot seems to be the type of pot you can cook in, without issues. So the set up doesn't have to be used for water only with the double boiler. I followed the directions about washing in white vinegar, drying, warm soapy water, rinsing, then drying before use. I made caramels in the pot that is on the stove, followed the cleaning directions, etc. After this 1 time use, (you can see in the photos) pitting has already started. Salt is used in caramels, and I made sure not to add the salt until the liquids were all hot, I use unsalted butter, etc. The marks in the photos are not water marks, and I know I can get the white residue out, however my concern is the pitting, first time use, and from experiences over the yrs. the pits continue to grow, and should not be used.
