Beautiful but mind the opening
I'll just write this here so that other people know how to open them. You need to insert the key into the keyhole and ONLY push, do not turn it. There is a small latch inside that when you push it will unlatch from the top part and let you open the house. You might have to push the key and pull open the lid at the same time as the latch is harder in some of the houses (might need a bit of strength) and as soon as you stop pushing it will go back to its place. The key is a bit flimsy compared to how much strength you have to use to open it, so I don't know how many uses you can get out of it, so far the ones I got are intact but I imagine with repeated use they might break (there's 2 inside so there's an extra). If the keys break, you will still be able to open it with something thin and strong (that's how we first opened it because we couldn't figure out how to use the keys).Besides that, these are amazing. They are like the toys from that other brand that used to exist 20 years ago which were amazing. These are exactly like those, even the little dolls are the same size. I don't know why that other brand changed their products, but I'm glad it came back from someone else. These have so many little details inside and are so well designed, even with the difficult opening I couldn't give them less than 5 stars.

Lovely product once you realise that the keys to not turn, they push to open!
This is a really lovely product once you realise that the keys do not turn, they push to open! On initially opening it my daughter was very frustrated not to be able to get into it as many other reviews suggest. The key felt as though it would break and felt very flimsy. We discovered that there is in fact no turning mechanism and that all it needs is the key to be pushed in firmly towards the back...or alternatively using something else that is a little stronger.Once opened the toy is really sweet and the little character has several options of things to do, a little imagination (which children have lots of) and your little character is in her own dance world, practising in the studio or performing on stage. My daughters favourite bit was the little wheel that the figure attaches to that allows her to be twirled across the stage. The toy is very portable and opens out in several places to reveal new sections. The inside section again can be opened not by turning the key but by pushing it back. It should then just click and pop open. The house has key storage on the back in the form of a clip and a spare key too. I hope my review is helpful and you enjoy playing with your new toy.

Don't turn the key!
My youngest loves these little shops and has quite the collection. We learned very early on that the key does NOT TURN, you just put it into the hole, push a little and open the shop at the same time. The detail in the shops is lovely with so many tiny parts for play. Just lovely. The only issue that causes me to remove a star is that I don't believe the little plastic keys will last very long so have encouraged my daughter not to 'click' them shut, so she doesn't need the key any more. Would be good if the manufacturer made either (a) a metal key that will last or (b) not such a hard mechanism for small hands to have to press into to open the shop.

Nice playset, but fiddly.
Lovely little playset, similar to Polly pocket but k prefer these as more detail. Bit fiddly to open with the key (took me ages!).
