I don't write many product reviews, but this item is an exception. I needed a wireless remote to trigger my Nikon in daylight, but especially at night while light painting landscapes. I like this thing as it's not IR but radio triggered and works in front of or behind the camera or even from another room if I need it to. IR remotes require line of sight, this one does not. I can walk 100 ft away from the camera/tripod set up...trip the shutter and light paint the area in which I want to light. It's awesome.While the product itself is worth reviewing, I cant say enough about the positive service I received from Fotodiox.Inc. After 17 months of continuous use, the unit failed to trip the shutter. I tried new batteries and changing the channels on both the sender and receiver to no avail. While researching SMDV's website looking for service or repair info, I noticed the unit had a one year warranty, where Fotodiox boasted a two year warranty on the Amazon page below the product description. Honestly I have been burned on Amazon before with grey market items, and after taking SMDV's warranty policy as gospel, I blasted Fotodiox saying this is why I don't like purchasing from Amazon. False claims! I certainly ate crow that day when a rep from Fotodiox returned my email saying that she assured me that while the SMDV warranty is for one year, Fotodiox stands behind the unit for two years. After receiving the unit back, a Fotodiox tech confirmed the unit was dead, trying it on his own camera.Today, I received a new working unit from Fotodiox and am happy to say, I WILL be checking Fotodiox for future purchases on camera gear.I suggest anyone ;looking for quality products and exceptional customer service do the same!Thanks

I purchased this to use with my Nikon Z7 and it's been perfectly reliable in my professional use. On the off chance that you're going to be around multiple users, there are switches on both the transmitter and receiver that you can use to set your own channel and the range is quite impressive. If you're in the market for a wireless trigger for your Nikon Z7 (or any other camera that uses Nikon's accessory input), then definitely look into this model. You won't regret it.

Great remote and now I have two receivers. One for my Nikon D810 and the other Nikon D7100. The transmitter works for both receivers and when I lose my transmitter in the dark after shooting night long exposures I have now tied and florescent orange string to all of my small external equipment. Black does not show up well in the dark.

I like to do micro photography and purchased the remote so I could get everything set up and then trip the shutter without moving the camera.Put the batteries in, attached the receiver to the camera, and triggered the remote.Every thing worked as advertised.I would recommend the product.

Works great with my Nikon D3100. Very pleased all around with this product. Works well either way (wired/wireless) . A great way to help eliminate camera shake!I recommend this valuable tool to any level photographer.
