If you are teaching young kids russian this is a great book to have on hand - I make copies to distribute among students. It has the alphabet learning/reviewing part, and hands on to use your craft skills and improve motor skills :) My children who are 3 and 5 - love learning with this book :)

Learn Russian?
You have to already know Russian to be able to use this book. Nothing is in English to help you understand.

Great buy!
I purchased Playing with Russian letters book for my almost 3 year old son and highly recommend it! This nicely illustrated book is a great resource. The book is intended for kids learning Russian in a bilingual environment. It focuses on letters and words that begin with the letter. My son knows some of the letters already but this helps him with the harder ones. My son loves to draw lines from the letter to the words and without noticing he is picking up a lot of new vocabulary through playing with the book.

I am very pleased. Russian speaker with linguistic education.
Very nice! Purchased it for my 4.5 growing in somewhat bilingual environment. He understands me in Russian and says words but grows in the US with no russian relatives around. I want to teach him how to read russian. I think it would also be helpful if letters were presented in clusters to for words. Like м а = мама . I will be buying the first book too.
