Thank you Roberta!
I purchased this book many years ago. I enjoyed it then but even more so now. I knew and still know many of the "characters" in this book. My second reading was much more enjoyable because of this. Been a Jamaica traveler for about 40 years now. It was an amazing "reach" this time because I got to meet you. Such fun . . .

A good overall picture of Negril
I have visited Negril for the past 23 years, once of twice a year, and this gives a light account of life in the town. I met the author and realize she lives there year round so experiences much more than the average tourist. There is a "dark side" to Negril that she did not delve into so that can be for another book.

Negril in 2D
I could almost not put down this book because the images were very meaningful to me. As a person who also loves Negril, and have had magical times there, the author never fails to display that love despite the daily problems that abound in that country. The ending was a bit idealistic, however the humor that the people of Jamaica never seem to lose is excellently portrayed and is more than enough to recommend this book. Rememeber to refer to the glossary of Jamaican terms or you will be lost.

Roberta nailed it!
This was a fun book. For myself it brought back many wonderful memories, familiar names, places. So much so I booked a trip back to Negril. Planned on reading it while laying in the sun but ended up finishing it in one sitting. Negril is special indeed and Roberta captured much of It's magical charm in her debut. Fictional? Don't think so:) 5 stars had it been longer.

Sweet Jamaican Read
Being a long time visitor to Jamaica, in particular, Negril....I absolutely loved this book. Most of it is set upon the West End Road in Negril, now called One Love Drive. For us oldtimers...it will always be West End Road.Anyhow, I could not put it down. Highly recommend this book to anyone that has been or wants to go to Negril. The author magically makes you feel like you are right there during all the fun. The people of Jamaica are described with such authenticity... you can literally hear their patois and the delightful inflections of their voices. Congrats Ms Pryor, for capturing the culture so beautifully!

Real life experiences in a romantic background
I wish there was more to relive. I have been to Jamaica several times. Always try to stay on the cliffs. The people are so loving and kind. This book depicts life on the westend of Negril in a true, true, light~! I couldn't stop reading it and looked forward every evening to getting back to it. I limited myself, though, cause I didn't want to get to the end too soon I was having so much fun reminising all my past experiences in Negril with all my friends. Thanks so much for writing this book, Roberta. When is the next one coming out?

Negril reggae riots and romance
This is a wonderful summertime read, giving your senses a good run for their money. Set in Jamaica in the '80s when Negril was truly a tropical paradise. I loved all the "jamaicanisms" and the funny characters you meet. If you've ever been to a Caribbean Island and especially Jamaica, this is a Must Read. Take a few hours out of your day, settle in and be prepared to be transported to the wild and wacky but wonderful Island of Jamaica. Congratulations to Ms Raigh Pryor for capturing that essence!

Thia is a very nice book that talks about human feelings with delicacy and naturalness. All this surrounded by the mid-eighties Negril. The place has changed enormously in the meantime but the adventures of the protagonists and the typical Jamaican flavours create a great mix.Worth reading.
