Power when you need it.
Perfect match for my 12 ft jonboat. Great value for the money. Quiet with no vibration. Gets me into those hard to reach places neccesary to catch the bigger fish. Pushes two men over 200lbs with ease.

Minnkota Troll motor
Great price for this transom mount motor. Have purchased several of these c 40 motors and they have all performed great! 40 lbs of thrust is more than enough for any Jon boat.

I love this motor
great product. I ordered it and sadly it sat in the box for 29 days as I was waiting to use it and build my motor mount. I finally got it out for memorial day weekend, and it worked like a charm. Easily carted me and 2 other buddies (full 30 year adults) around for about 6 hours on the lake. I purchased this along with the Minn Kota motor power center, and we only used half battery. I was worried in some areas as I kept hitting rocks, or getting stuck in mud, but this motor was a beast and plowed right through everything. It does vibrate a bit on top speed, but I have never had a trolling motor before so I hope this is normalUnfortunately, upon coming back from my fishing trip, which was at 34 days of purchase, the Endura C2 55lb thrust motor went on sale for $5 measly more then what I paid for this 40lb, and amazon would not allow me to return. Id get the 55lb just to have it, but the 40 lb is more then plenty for a 12 foot V bottom boat with 3 30 year old adults, a coolor and plenty of fishing equipment.

Does really good in currents and wind
As everybody knows Florida has,had plenty of rain in the last couple of months ,I bought this trolling motor for a 12 foot jon boat ,yesterday was the first time I used it me and my wife ran the gas motor to the creek where I love to Bass fish (everybody knows we have the best fishing in Florida) the current was running more than normal ,this trolling motor pushed up in the creek to fish never using over 3 on the speed dial I was very impressed with it, later that day we used it to troll for Specs ( I think ya call them Crappie up north) we used it on 1 in a moderant wind with no problem we did'nt cacth no specs so they must not be biting yet ,I almost bought the 55 lb my buddy at work told me it was a overkill for my little boat and I am glad I listen to him because the motor is perfect for my jon boat. yes I do recommend this Minn Kota to anybody with a 12 or 14 foot jon boat, and on 5 it goes as fast as my 9.9 Johnson idles.

Vibrates Lil bit in notch 5, quiet in 1 to 4. 4 to 5 big thrust accidently went to 5 with it turned and almost flew off transom so be careful. Handle pulled off switch so I had to remove top cover use a small screw where handle goes onto switch weird it didn't come with a screw yet there is a recessed hole for a screw there. Oem prop does not reverse well. ORDERED A 3 BLADE PROP FROM KIPAWA, 10 -15% MORE POWER AND REVERSE IS BETTER. They don't sell on Amazon no more have to google KIPAWA PROPELLERS. I includes pic of oem vs kipawa prop

Great motor that will not disappoint
Rather than settle for the 30 pounds of thrust model, I sprang for the 40, and am so glad I did. We initially purchased this for the Seahawk II inflatable, but the lake authority did not allow inflatables on the lake! So, we ended up renting a row boat, and installing our motor on it. This motor allowed us to putter all over the lake for a good hour and a half, and battled the strong wind and current just fine. It's extremely quiet, and works very, very well. Solid construction. Easily adjusted for depth, great quick release latch to tilt the motor up. It's just a great product. Extremely pleased with this purchase. Five gears and easy grip handle. My five year old was able to control this motor just fine, and had a blast puttering around the lake. We even hit some deep weed beds, but the motor chewed through those without trouble, and we reversed right out of that mess. It's fairly light to carry too, so trudging it down to the shore or dock is no problem. You won't regret getting this motor. Just keep in mind it's an electric trolling motor, not a gas-powered outboard. For what it is, it's very powerful and quiet. But you won't be water skiing with it.

WOW
Like the title of my review....wow. That is what I said the first time I used this motor. I use it on an intex seahawk inflatable raft, and could not be happier with the production. When you first turn it on, it may seem a little slow at first, then speed 4 comes around, and then 5, where the motor really kicks in. Very easy to set up, very easy to use, weedless, quality, basically no maintenance. I use it with a group 29DC everstart battery from walmart with 125 amp hrs, which serves me perfectly. Called minn-kota to get an amp breakdown, and you basically use 1 amp per lb of thrust. At speed five, you basically use 40amps. Speed 1 - 8amps. 2 - 16amps. 3 - 24amps and 4 - 32amps. If you live in NJ where many of the lakes and reservoirs are electric only, this is the way to go. I read one of the reviews about the 30lb thrust motor and it said if you have the extra $, go for the 40....im so glad i did and you will be too. Could not be happier.....!
