USB c to dvi Cable (6FT)

Computer monitors and TVs typically use 2 different kinds of digital encodings for video. Computer monitors use DVI-D with RGB color while TVs use HDMI with YCbCr color. DVI-D and HDMI are electrically compatible, which is why you can have a passive DVI-D to HDMI adapter, but the RGB and YCbCr formats give different meaning to the same signals. Dell computer monitors with HDMI inputs support both RGB and YCbCr and computers can output both formats. Unlike other adapters, this one correctly tells Dell monitors which format is in use, and the Dell monitors correctly and automatically adjust themselves to use the correct format. (Other adapters I have tried make the Dell monitor think it is getting RGB even when it is actually getting YCbCr, leading to a washed-out pink display that is practically unusable.)Most USB-C, Thunderbolt 3, or DisplayPort to DVI adapters do not work on old 1920x1200 monitors that do not support HDCP, such old (pre-2009) Apple Displays. This one works perfectly with my old monitor.

I recently purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2 (40AS0090US) for the purpose of having a workstation at home for job-related stuff. I wanted to use 3 monitors but using the HDMI port + the 2 Displayports caused a resolution issue with one of my monitors (I read in a forum that using both at the same time without having a 1.4 Displayport-compatible laptop was an issue). Basically, I transitioned from trying to use:- DVI to HDMI- DVI to DP- DVI to DPto using:- DVI to HDMI- DVI to DP- DVI to USB-C (this adapter that I'm currently reviewing)As a result, I was able to use all THREE monitors in full 1920x1080 resolution! There aren't many places online giving a very clear-cut viable solution to this for those buying the Lenovo Dock that I mentioned, so I hope this helps someone out there. This adapter was priced well, and gave me a very important solution that I needed.

I picked up two of these QGeeM USB C to DVI cables to connect some older Samsung monitors I had that only had DVI ports (well, and VGA, but who wants to use THAT?) to the thunderbolt ports on my iMac 5K. The cable length is perfect since they sit on either side of the iMac (one portrait for documentation, one landscape for a preview, and the iMac in the middle as the main workspace). They work great, and the gold ends are a nice touch. Well packaged, and by all appearances solidly built. A very good value

I've purchased several QGeeM brand cables for my Macs and haven't had a problem with them working across old and new tech and OS versions. This USBC to DVI works as expected and at a lower price than some competitors. It's a basic-looking cable but does have a nice little velcro strap. USB C fits snugly but easily removes (these can vary in quality) and is low profile, so it doesn't crowd out the neighboring plugs on my Mac Mini. The DVI screws in snugly like it's supposed to and just works. A nice cable to have to make older displays work with newer computers and more elegant than adapters, which can get heavy on one end or the other. While flexible enough, it's not a soft, superflexible cable, which I actually see as a plus so hopefully it will last a while. Sometimes those very flexible cables just don't last.In general, I've come to trust the QGeeM brand to work and if not, trust that they will make it right.

I purchased this cable as a replacement for a VGA connection on an older monitor. The digital DVI connection provides a better quality image and while I do not have a way to actually test speed, I have noticed an improvement in overall performance using DVI over VGA. Since this older monitor does not support HDMI, I wanted to switch to a digital connection over the analog VGA.The QGeeM cable worked perfectly with my MacBook Pro and the monitor was immediately detected with this new cable. What impressed me most was the quality of this cable. This cable is well worth the price and I thing it is an incredible value as compared to other options. I could have purchased an adapter for my existing DVI cable, but felt that using a true thunderbolt 3 cable with my Mac was the best option and I’m glad I made this choice.I’m very happy with this purchase and the quality and workmanship of this cable led me to purchase the QGeeM USB-c to HDMI cable for my large 2nd monitor. I ordered this cable to connect an older (non Apple) 27" external monitor (DVI/VGA connections) to my 2019 MacBook Pro (Thunderbolt 3/USB type C compatible ports). I've now been using it about a month, and it has worked flawlessly from out of the box. I literally just removed the old DVI cable from the back of the monitor (that had connected the monitor to my *older* MacBook Pro), I connected the QGeeM cable's DVI connector to the monitor, the USB Type C connector to the already-running 2019 MacBook Pro, and the Mac found the monitor and extended my desktop almost instantly Another pleasant surprise - the QGeeM has longer grips at the end of the DVI screw connectors than you usually get on a video cable, so very easy to tighten them without jamming your thumb or finger between the DVI connector and monitor case, or having to go get a screwdriver, etc... as a former I.T. pro I got used to only screwing in one of the 2 connector screws because it was such a pain to grip both of them to tighten all the way, or to later LOOSEN them. That was a non-issue with this cable.Great price, the quality of the cable seems just fine, plenty of length if you need it, but the outer covering is also very supple for coiling/cable management. And it saved me from having yet one more bulky adapter dongle hanging off my MacBook Pro! I definitely recommend it!

Previously bought some multi-adaptors to fit my existing DVI connected extra screens to my new Mac 27" that comes only with USB C connectors - these have been troublesome so have been looking for an alternate cable. Not sure why I didn't see these before but they're perfect, right out of the box. Plugs directly into the 2 external screens (DELL 27") and straight into the 2 USBC ports on the 27" - giving an clean and elegant fit with less wires and boxes.Perfect, thanks.

I bought it for a good price, and it is definitely plug in and play, as I plugged it in and was able to get working on both screens right away. Needed this to connect an old DVI monitor to a new(ish) iMac that had USB-C Style thunderbolt port. Plugged it into the monitor and the iMAC and got a crystal clear picture on the old monitor. Also comes with velcro cable tie so it is easy to coil the cable up and keep it tidy.

Until now I had to use an adaptor to connect my external monitor to my MacBook.However, using an adapter was causing issues.Sometimes the monitors were flickering and sometimes the laptop didn't come out of the sleep mode.So, I deceided to buy a DVI to USBC calble to connect my monitor directly to the MacBook.First I tried another DVI to USBC cable which didn't work.But this one was working perfectly out of the box.I'm very happy with this cable and can easily recommend it.

Needed for my MacBook Pro as there are no USB ports. For the price it's just the ticket. It arrived on time, was completely hassle free setting up and the quality from machine to LED monitor is perfect.The cable is brand new, is as per the image seen and looks durable enough, so I don't doubt it'll last a long time. A lifetime guarantee is included, but I don't think I'll need it. Overall, it's great value for money and recommended.
