These plastic candles are great for places where people won't necessarily get too close to them. They are made of good quality plastic, btu compared to ones actually made from wax, or even beeswax, they won't smell as good. Smell, however, was not what I wanted, I needed looks! And these look fine from a little distance (like on top of a cabinet, or behind a glass cupboard door. I own more of this brand and the battery life has been really good. The brightness is less than some others, but it is plenty good and perhaps that is what contributes to the extended battery life. Anyway, since discovering this kind of battery candle a couple of years ago I've bought multiple packages of different sizes and been happy with all of them. Recommended.

Beautiful flickering candle safe for pets and children. Takes AA batteries which I bought on Amazon. Oh I wish there was an on off switch on the bottom but you do have to take about 15 seconds to unscrew the bottom and turn it on and off.

I bought this for my son’s outdoor lantern he has hanging on his walkway as a surprise last June. I looked at it yesterday when I was visiting and there was standing water on the top around the bulb and near the bottom but it still came on without fail. I emptied the water off the top ( probably since last rain which was cover 10days ago) and checked the bottom and it was dry. It held up to rain and hot sun all summer well. I hope it holds up to winter here too. I only wish it was brighter then I’d give it 5 stars.

I have a pretty good size hanging lantern in our courtyard. The original candle failed and no longer worked. I decided to be a do it yourself fixer and see what it would take to replace it. The original candle was screwed into the base of the lantern, through some eye holes. So I unscrewed the screws, removed the old candle and inserted this candle and marked the bottom. I then had my Hubby take a very small drill bit and drill into the plastic screw on base for the screw holes. I didn't realize this had a screw on base so it made it a bit trickier. We drilled and screwed the base onto the bottom of the lantern, then opened the lantern and screwed the candle onto the bottom threads of the base. It works but took a bit more DIY than I was hoping. Now I'm wishing I would have got a candle that had a remote to turn it on at dusk. Since the switch is hidden under the screw on base I have to completely unscrew the candle from the inside to change the timer as the seasons change. Candle is a dim light, not very bright. Warm golden glow. As described.

I bought two 6” candles and put them in my bathroom. Then decided to buy a 4” one to go with them. They can be programmed for six hours (battery powered) so I staggered them. They are brightly lit and I do recommend them.

Timer works as described, brightness and candle flicker look good, battery usage was great, however they are not waterproof. Two out of the four had water in the base. All four were inside outdoor lanterns with the same exposure. Note that the pairs arrived in two different types of packages, so you’re rolling the dice on these if you use them outside. I made no note of which pair came from which box. Otherwise these look nice and worked as described. I used Amazon batteries and they were still going strong after 35 days.

Good quality and has timer which is a nice feature. I would order again.
