Extremely useful tool, good quality.
I purchased this tool because i was needing to terminate some large lugs for #2 wires and really needed to have a very good connection. I did not want to pay $300 for the crimping pliers on the market for this size wiring so I decided to buy this crimper instead. I must say I am pleased with its overall durability and strength. It worked really well and created very good crimps.I used it to crimp finely stranded #2 wire inside of multiple terminals and have no issues with any of the terminations. very solid terminations. I simply used a piece of scrap 4x4 underneath this tool and struck the crimper with a 1 lb. sledge hammer.FYI: There is a little bit of play on the part of the crimper. Just make sure you center it on your terminal before your 'first' hammer strike. The crimper play i am making reference to is minimal however and would certainly not prevent me from purchasing again. Make your first hammer strike a little light to get your initial position of the crimp and after double checking everything, then use your second and third strike to really obtain your crimp....just FYIChris

Felt awkward but worked perfect
This tool felt a little awkward to use but once I got the hang of it, I was banging out terminals left and right. Be sure to do a few practice runs on materials you can toss (maybe a test terminal/wire) but it really is as simple as swinging a hammer. The tool itself is solid (literally). Thing feels like holding a brick and like it could survive a 10 story drop. Would definitely recommend this over one of the more expensive tools UNLESS you plan to be pumping out lots of terminals (like 30 plus in a short amount of time). This is really just meant for those smaller jobs every once in a while vs being a workhorse tool.

Cheap, durable, space saving, control
If youre doing a car system that requires 0 gauge, buy this. It's way too cheap to pass up. Its very small and compact so it wont take up room like the large crimping pliers will.Ive crimped 6 ring terminators with this already and all of them came out solid. You can beat the crap out of this thing and it holds up.Theres a spring on the back so when you hammer it the spike doesnt jump of target and it holds the ring terminator in place.

Fast easy crimper at an affordable price
I purchased this to use with my 4 ga lugs on my battery system. Easy to use, just insert cable into terminal, place terminal in the groove and strike with hammer. Presto, crimped!I did it twice, next to each other for a double crimp, just to make a better connection (hopefully), and for securities sake.I would definitely recommend this to off-gridders, boaters, and anyone who needs to make up their own cables. It's fast, easy, and priced so anyone can purchase it. E-Z Red B790C Hammer Indent Crimper Tool

All I needed for stereo upgrade
I installed a new stereo system using 4 gauge power wires. I needed a larger crimping tool for the larger wire. I used it two ways, in a vice and with a mallet. Both ways worked great. There are a lot more expensive options out there but this tool is strong and did the job perfectly. Highly recommend.

A review after a few years of use
This little thing does it's job. It's durable. Over the life of it though. The little roll pin that holds the spring to help it stay open during loading came out a few times. And the need for having something to hammer against is kinda a bummer compared to say hydraulic crimpers. All in all its a good product that does what it is supposed to do.

Will do just about any job!
Using this to wire up a battery system in a camper and a trailer, using 4/0 and 1/0 wire. This thing is SOLID. Will stand up to substantial hammering in order to crimp wires that big, and while I’ve only had it for a little while, I’m sure this will hold up to the test of time as well.

Excellent product
Love this tool, precise indenting, ease of use 10/10.Has a locking pin on the back to lock in the upstroke position to let you place your wire without holding that up as well10/10 overall, takes the abuse of hammers well.

It worked well for me... my project required 2/0 cable and ends.

Great tool for the price if you only need it for one-time/casual use.
I bought this to put connectors on some 4G wire after badly botching a connector with a crimping too. My crimper only goes to 8G. Using this I easily crimped the connectors. I saw some complaints about the quality in other reviews. I did not have an issue with it breaking down, that being said I only used it to do a couple of connections. The pin was a little off center so it took some adjustments with the wire placement to get the job done. I was able to get the connectors firmly on the wire (they don't budge) which is all I really cared about.
