Spacious and stylish self watering planter.
These are stylish and the area for plant is generous as compared to many other self watering pots I’ve used. They are still new to me so I can’t yet comment on water level gauge reliability but I did test each one to ensure float worked out of the box and they all did.The grey is semi matte finish with rounded corners and it looks nice and unobtrusive. In my experience with similar designs the feet on bottom of insert should protect plant roots from too much moisture and the roots who find their way through will adapt to water on demand.I am using with straight pon substrate. An excellent value for lightweight, stylish pots with the important features.

My absolute favorite style of pot
I use these pots for Venus flytraps, I'm currently using over 25 of these pots at different sizes. EXCELLENT robust quality and the water meter is a nice addition. I love being able to water my plants directly from the watering corner of the pots. Absolutely my favorite pots. And they're sleek and are photogenic for photos of your plants. Great pots. I've been telling many people about them

Planter works as expected
I like the ease of use for the planters. Plants sit in a basket and water on bottom. Makes for easy water changes for my alocasias

Dupe works, but need some tinkering
Dupe appears to work. The inside is black instead of white so has a different aesthetic than the original (I liked the white a bit better). Off the bat there is a usability issue: the black plastic insert is also very slippery and makes it particularly difficult to lift pon and the plant, compared to the original white shiny plastic which sticks to your finger and is easy to lift. I used some sandpaper to rough up the inside a bit so my wet thumb could stick better - not too noticible but it now is a little lighter where I roughed up the corner surface if the insert. The bottom plastic insert is made a little differently as well with 4 legs that that reach to the bottom so provide a path for potential roots growing directly into the water - none of the holes are big enough for any size of the rope wicks you may purchase separately. For this I used a 1/8 drill bit to make some holes in various locations to thread a rope wick up. Some plants won't need it as they will grow roots down rapidly, but some will not and the wicks are necessary, so minus one point for not having a wick option. Finally the water meter appears to work, but is not cut down perfectly to the right size (a bit too long, it touches the bottom of the pot and 'stands up' on it's own not to be contiguous with the insert by a few millimeters). The original is perfectly engineered in comparison (but crazily priced IMHO), so this dup is sufficient if you have a lot of plants and feel comfortable to tinker with them.

Delighted -- exceeds expectations
I absolutely love these! They look great -- sleek and modern -- and the little water meter is genius. How it works is that it's a little floating device with a little stick attached; as the water gets used up, the floating thingee will sink, and you can thus see the stick go lower and lower in the water gauge.I bought two sets, and I am really delighted. The one caveat is that the internal piece in the pots (the part that allows for the drainage, and also the corner section where the water meter goes) does make the interior of the pots smaller than expected (since the bottom is elevated to prevent root rot, and since the water meter itself takes up a corner of the pot). That is, I transplanted herbs I had purchased that were in 2" x 2" containers, and the net depth of the pot (since the bottom is elevated) is about 2", so while my herbs' roots now have more room to grow outwards, they can't really go any deeper. So, if you really need all 5.5" of volume for your plant, consider getting something bigger. However, so far my little herbs seem to be loving these. I was initially a little hesitant due to the price (it came out to about $7 each, which felt steep), but now that I have them I am happy with my purchase.I'm not sure why Amazon isn't letting me upload pictures to my reviews; if I can figure out how to do that, I'll upload a picture here so you can see how cute these are!

Really great value for the price
These were the best priced ones I could find with a decent quantity, so I was a little nervous that they were going to be subpar. But they definitely are not! They came with no directions, so it was a bit confusing to put the water level trackers together at first, but not extremely difficult. Quick shipping and perfect size as well. Will definitely be ordering again!

Plants love it!
You will need to assemble the moisture meter, and even though it was super easy to assemble, it's a little flimsy. I "think" I got it right, but the way it sits inside the holder does not look very sturdy. However, I will say that overall functionality works great, and plants are growing like crazy!
