Cheap, but 2yr old was thrilled with it!
I got this for my 2 year old who is a fan of LOTR. He was trying to carry around my broom handle and calling himself Mr Gandalf. So I thought he would be thrilled with this staff and he was. It's a cheap plastic but I really wasn't looking for it to be made too well. The staff comes in two pieces and it pushes together in the middle. There are two little knobs that stick out and fit into the other side to keep it together. It stays together really well. It's never come apart. Overall for just something to play around with until he looses interest in it, this has been a really good toy.

Needs fresh paint
The item is a good size for the money so I was pleased with that. It would be proper scale for a 6 to 10 year old in a Gandalf costume. The two pieces fit together extremely tightly, and I ended up bending the staff when putting it together. I un-bent it, but it's now structurally weak. It could be fixed with resin and a dowel as another rater mentioned. The biggest disappointment was the coloring. I'm sure this was made almost 10 years ago when the first Hobbit movie came out, and the paint is really faded. Around the top of the staff, it also looks very worn in that the brown paint is worn off on every wrinkle. If you're at all picky, you'll probably want to buy a can of brown spray paint to go over the whole thing, and maybe a silver Sharpie for the inset highlights at the top.

Hollow plastic, but able to be reworked into a nice staff
As delivered, the staff was cheap plastic in two pieces that fit together. Put 4 oz fiberglass resin and a 3/4 include dowel rod in the lower half and let it harden Used expanding phone "Great Stuff" in the top half and a 7/8 inch dowel in the top half put it together to harden. Trimmed the bottom of the staff and used a dowel screw (wood screw on both ends) to a 16" of 1 1/4 dowel to get the height right. Used sanding disk on an angle grinder to give a a more natural stick look and then stained it. End result was really nice.

Best Supporting Item!
This staff from an excellent vendor really brought out the best in my Ren Fest outfit.

Cheap plastic
A cheap piece of plastic. I had no idea that is what it was when I ordered it. Plus it is too short for an adult.

Great addition to the Halloween costume
Worked great for the costume and looked very authentic

Not worth the price
Honestly it is cool but the staff is not worth the price at all and its not even the big. Only 3ft tall put together. Honestly just wanted to be gandalf for this upcoming Halloween. Either make the staff taller like it should or lower the price to 10 bucks.

A decent staff, nice size
The staff is a nice size and sturdy, but the coloring is pretty off. Light brown with some beige rubbed on and odd "seams" inset in the knob doesn't really scream Gandalf's staff. I painted mine, and it looks great now!
