Excellent intro to the Lone Ranger!
This tome of a tpb collection that shows the origin of the Lone Ranger & Tonto is outstanding! The writing and art are a perfect, gritty combo. If you want to get into reading the origin & early adventures of the Lone Ranger & Tonto in comics form, this is THE way to go, for sure! Top marks all around!

Hi-Yo Silver!
If Disney had used this as source material, they would have had themselves a legitimately good western instead of trying to recreate Pirates of the Caribbean in the wild west. This is a tale of true heroism. Riding along with John Reed as he learns what it means to be a man that stands for something is both fun and inspiring.

Nihilistic take on a great hero - be warned
I write this review as a fan of The Lone Ranger television series. The television series was non violent. ‘‘This series is sickeningly violent. It is reminiscent of Alan Moore’s The Watchmen. The story line is filled with pseudo profundity and ugliness. The Lone Ranger and Tonto are so badly mischaracterized as to be laughable.Where Tonto and the Ranger were a team, in this book, Tonto is clearly the mentor, to a version of the Lone Ranger, a man trying to find his way and find himself. In actuality both men know who they are and quite at peace with themselves and their noble mission. We are presented with a grim edgy Lone Ranger, instead of the smiling, friendly companion - in stories where violence was practically non existent. The series on television made one cry for joy. This series can give a grown man nightmares and should never be read by children. That is all I have to say.

This comic book collection is the best I read of the lone ranger or any western ...
ALMOST THE DEFINITIVE LONE RANGER. This comic book collection is the best I read of the lone ranger or any western hero comic book. The dark and sometimes humorous, the full blown action and drama of these paper heros, made me impossible to put down the book. From the legendary origin of the masked man to reach manhood, I really recomended to your comic book collection.

but I LOVED this graphic novel
A slightly different take than the Lone Ranger you may have grown up with, but I LOVED this graphic novel. The artwork is great and I found the story enjoyable. I hope they publish an omnibus of the later graphic novels.

Great buy
It's a absolutely well written story, fast reading as mostly Graphics themselves do the storytelling!!! Mature reading ,not for junior readers definitely above 14years.The Movie makers of the recent film shud have used this storyline rather than the one used.Overall a great buy,for all Ranger fans.
