The Carol Doak paper piecing books are so good. The cd that is provided so that you can print the pattern blocks has been so helpful. I have not seen any other books like this & am so glad I found this one. Any number & combination of blocks can be pieced. & put together so easily. Instructions & examples are very clear.

This book of 32 new designs is a little different from Carol's usual books. There are options to make a quilt block or a border. The ideas on comers are especially helpful. There is a CD ROM so you can print blocks the size you want. The cutting lists are always accurate with Carol and a lot of help organizing your cutting list. Consider using your favorite colors instead of the suggested one's and the possibility of quilt to make expands as far as you can create. What I enjoy about Carol is the blocks are her design but you make them your own with the choices you make for yourself. Carol Doak's new book is wonderful! The quilts in this brand new book are stunning! Carol really steps outside of the box on this one! I never knew you could do so much with one simple block. This book is filled with great new blocks, ideas and inspiration. There are also step-by-step instructions for paper piecing Carol's way...great for a beginner and a nice refresher for the more experienced paper piecer. This book is filled with helpful little notes and tips. And...there is also a Foundation Factory CD with this book. Foundation Factory is a stand alone program for printing the block foundations on your own computer. This is a great addition to my Carol Doak book collection.

Just received this book this morning. I am relatively new to paper piecing and wanted a book that gave me more intricate patterns. This book has some lovely patterns for paper piecing including patterns for corners and borders. I can't wait to try some but...I don't have the required legal sized foundation paper required to print the patterns as they are in the book (12" x 6"). Yes, the book includes a CD that allows one to resize the patterns, but to use the patterns as Ms. Doak has used them, 11 x 14 legal sized foundation paper is needed. I will order some but I wish I had known when I ordered the book.

Love the blocks. There’s quilt patterns for quite a few of them. Love that there’s paper copies of each block - especially since the CD was not included with the book. Wish the CD had been included since it’s a lot easier changing the size or flip the orientation of the foundation.

I liked that the instructions told you how small or large to cut the fabric so that there was little waste in the paper piecing. I did not like that you could not mix up the printing of the letters if you wanted to print more than one letter to a page. I was able to print a letter seperately then pasting two letters to a page.

No one could say enough of Carol's patterns! Clear directions, easy to follow and lots of suggestions for using the same block. Absolutely worth adding to your library, unless you really don't like paper piecing.

I just received the book and I have to force myself to finish some projects first before starting one from the book! This is my second Carol Doak book and I just LOVE it. Easy to follow instructions, very well written and endless posibilities! If you love paper piecing you should buy this book! And if you don't, just buy it, give it a try and you'll be addicted to paper piecing very soon.
