Coldpix S60
I have had several Coolpix cameras and the only one which meets MY needs perfectly as the S60. The ability to write on the pictures as well as crop them easily is most appreciated. Unfortunately, someone else values the S60 as much as I do, as both cameras I ordered 6 weeks ago have been stolen from a beach in Mexico. I have to say that I am either careless or neglectful when it comes to cameras as these two were my seventh and eighth because of earlier loss or their being stolen. I am having difficulty replacing the S60 but I will keep trying as long as this model is available and should I continue my regrettable pattern of losses. Darrell W Rumsey

Not To Shabby
Just came in the mail today, Opened it up and started clicking away! Its a little tricky at first with the different "Scene settings". if you take a picture up close, without the "Portrait" setting on it can become blurry and look like absolute crap! Easily can be fixed though when you place it to "Auto Scene Setting" which detects the atmosphere and automatically adjusts to the picture....Which doesnt always work so great. Cool diffrent features in scene mode , such as fireworks, food and party/indoor. Tested it out on the food, but i had to adjust the settings to the flash to get the picture i really wanted. Its alot of adjusting you have to do before you can take a picture. So if your the type of perosn who just turns it on and clicks away , this probably isint the camera for you. On the contrary, If your a lil Tech savvy and want each picture to demonstrate its best attributes and quality, then this is just what you want. Browsing the menu is very easy and explains almost every feature designated by the "?" symbol, so not much reading of the manuel to get the point of the features. So far the pictures I have taken, are absolutely beautiful and when zoomed in, are CRYSTAL CLEAR.The holidays are coming up so ill be taking plenty pictures and post my reveiw on the diffrent scene settings!

Nikon Coolpix S60
The idea of this product was very good. That's why I couldn't wait to get one for my wife. Unfortunately, the technology is just not mature at all.First, the touch screen responsiveness is wildly inconsistent. Usually, it responds immediately. However, sometimes, it takes 3 to 5 sec. You would think that you didn't touch correctly and you would try to touch again, and again. Then you would have touched the same thing twice or 3 times. And you would have to undo the 2nd or 3rd touches.Second, the battery won't last 100 shots. If you use flash or touch the screen a lot, it probably is good for 60 or 70 shots. You would need 2 or 3 batteries for your trips if you plan to take a lot of shots.

A Good Product!
I don't understand the bad reviews that this camera has gotten. To me it is like my iPhone, intuative and easy to use! Takes great pictures too! My only disapointment is that a premium priced Point & Shoot camera like the S60 Nikon Coolpix S60 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom (Burgundy)should not have been shipped without a SDHD memory card (even if only limited capacity!). Make sure you buy this camera AND a SDHD card at the same time, without the card you will have only 9 or 10 photos before you must delete or download to your computer.

cool camera
I recently bought this camera on amazon. It is a great camera. I was concerned about all the negative reveiws but I had to try it out. It is as good as any other P&S camera out there. The touch screen is very cool if you are into it. if not buy one of the nikons without a touch screen. It takes excellent pictures for a P&S. I think some reveiwers just didn't read the manual on how to use the settings or had expectations of an slr. this is a cool little camera, that fits in your pocket. Buy it.....Major Wheelock, New Hampshire

Broke after using it TWICE
Do not buy this camera. It broke after I used it TWICE, taking a total of about 10 pictures with it.I purchased it for a trip around the US for my 40th birthday to celebrate with good friends, after which I was leaving the country for 8 months. Thanks to Nikon (who refused to just send me a new camera ASAP, which would have been the decent thing to do) and this camera (which is absolutely useless to me less than 2 weeks after purchasing) I have no pictures to show of this very special vacation. If you have important memories, do not trust them to a Nikon camera. I have owned Kodak and Fuji cameras and never had a single problem with them. I will never buy another Nikon again after this experience.
