Not Your Average "Fitness Book" / Absolutely Loved It
I don't normally write reviews, but loved this book so much that I felt compelled to write one. 5+ stars all the way. If you are expecting a generic fitness book, then you've come to the wrong place. This isn't the usual marketing hype of "Do These 5 Moves To Get Ripped Abs", nor is it purely a "fitness book". While the book is heavy on exercise (as you would expect it to be), he also talks about a different kind of strength - the strength to take on life's challenges. He opens up about a lot of personal things that he's gone through in life and explains how they made him grow stronger. It's that mental and spiritual strength that we all need to be working alongside our physical strength. This also made the book more of an enjoyable read than a book that was purely about fitness programming. That said...The meat and potatoes of this book is still about how to get physically strong - regardless of your current fitness level. Danny did an excellent job of creating 3 fitness level categories with level-appropriate exercises for each one. He goes into great detail on the exercises themselves, rep range recommendations, and even provides several sample workouts that incorporate the exercises demonstrated. There are also plenty of great, colorful photos displaying the exercises. How does it stack up to other similar books I've read? It's certainly the most enjoyable "fitness book" I've read in a while. It's similar in quality to what I've gotten from some of Pavel's work (different in substance, but both high caliber), but again, more enjoyable to read. It's also a nice companion to his other book "Diamond Cut Abs". Definitely get yourself a copy.Martin D.StreetWorkoutMagazine.com

No BS approach
How refreshing. A straightforward, simple, philosophy to life, food and exercise. No need for fancy expensive equipment or supplements. It's about a lifestyle, not a fad diet or the latest gym craze. It's up to YOU, YOU are responsible for YOU, no one else.I have been doing some of the exercises as part of my own regimen and wanted to know more, as I was getting fed up with free weights, and boring routines on fancy equipment. I am so glad I found this book.I would love to meet Danny one day.

I could not be more pleased.
One of my favorite fitness books to date. I have purchased many books related to fitness and nutrition. Danny simplifies the game, which most other authors try to complicate. There is much sound advice in this book, I'm so glad I purchased it. Would give it six stars if I could. Thanks for the great read Danny.

Highly recommended!
A terrific book on body weight exercise with exercises for beginners to very advanced practitioners. Danny's writing is inspiring and amusing at times. He has put together several workout routines, using exercises from each level that are easy to follow and definitely bring results. He also has a completely refreshing view of the supplement market, promoting healthy eating, not hawking some vendor's supplement line.

Body weight will always be there regarding everyday life application of callisthenics and how we ultimately want our bodies to be able to do whenever we require them to do so.

Lots of good info.
This book has a lot of great info. I have been working out for years and was always in pretty good shape but learned a lot from this book esp about eating. I was a lot like the author, eating protein bars and drinking protein shakes all the time. After reading this book I dumped all that junk and starting eating fruit instead. My stomach flattening back to a 6 pack again and my skin cleared up and I look younger. The workouts are great for someone starting out or for someone wanting to get in shape without a lot of equipment.

A fantastic read!
Danny Kavadlo has done it again, after reading his awesome previous books I had to read this.In my opinion this is not just a fitness book, but a lifestyle book too. Giving you the motivation and ideas to make small changes to improve your life and be the best version of you. I love Danny's simplictic approach to training and life, things do not need to be over complicated! There are a lot of fitness books out there which make fitness goals seem impossible to maintain, as in the way you eat, supplements etc. Danny is a realistic and completely honest about his beliefs.I've been training calisthenics for a while now so I'm pretty competent with most aspects of this training however there is always more to learn and there are some great new excersises ill be adding to my arsenal. In addition to this Danny never fails to re ignite my inspiration for fitness and he adds humour along the way. The book is a great read, I smashed through it in 3 days and ill be reading it again soon!I can't wait for the next book Danny! Keep training hard!

Disappointing
Unfortunately this seems to be the weakest book from either of the Kavadlo brothers, whilst there is a good range of exercises the explanation leaves a lot to be desired (reverse plank explanation Spring to mind), going from lying on your back hands by your side and then just pushing down on hands and heels will put you in the reverse plank position???Then there is the workouts, again reasonably well set out, but to the novice like me if felt there was no decent explanation of when to progress from workout 1-3, do you stay on workout one until fully mastered or use 1,2&3 then back to 1 if training 3 to 4 times a week??Sorry Danny but although the content is in there somewhere, I found it a difficult book to follow and I personally prefer the books written by your brother.

No-nonsense approach to health and strength.
This is a fantastic guide to approaching fitness in a completely old school way. This no-nonsense book gives it to you straight, there is no trendy ideas or fancy tricks. The exercises and eating guide are all about keeping it simple and effective. I have to say I'm really looking forward to putting the ideas into practice and hopefully seeing the results.

Well written comprehensive book on diet and training the way it should be, natural! Danny has a great writing style and this book is straightforward and packed full of information. In a market flooded with people trying to make a quick buck from people's insecurities this book is a breath of fresh air; an honest, smart, common sense approach to fitness, food and life.
