I received my leather strop today. It arrived very quickly but the packaging was completely torn open at one end. The delivery driver took a photograph of the damaged packaging. The strop appears undamaged and looks like the photo of the item I ordered. I am therefore assuming that the strop will do its job and hopefully, I'll be pleased.

Maybe it was my technique but I found the (quite thin) leather prone to cutting and nicking.Despite the above, I gave the strop four stars because of the lovely rosewood handle (which I have now recovered with some thicker leather)

This is the best reasonably priced strop I've found. It's a decent size and works well.

This has got to be the worst strop I have ever bought. The leather is very thin and the board is not flat; either that or the leather is of varying thicknesses causing the uneven surface of the strop. Whichever it is makes this strop of very poor quality.I recommend you do not buy this strop. Buy any other cheaper strop than this, it has to be better than this one.

Love the way this made, it feels very nice to handle and give a brilliant finish to my blades. Would definitely recommend this item 😍👍

I would have given this 5 stars if the leather had been a bit thicker. I personally like the hide on 1 side to be coarse side up and thicker than on this strop. It is however, very good for axe honing width wise.

Beautiful and does the job!

So I got this for stropping my knives - its a great size and just what I needed.The reviews weren't too great, but decided to make my own judgment on it.. When I first received it - I didn't have any of the warping wood or loose leather, so was quite pleased - apart from the daft delivery driver delivering to the prong place - the customer service was great here - they chased it up, got it delivered to a local shop and I collected it. A pain - but at least I got it.After using it for a short while - the leather started to come away from 1 side on the short edge... I used some superglue to secure it back down and kept on going...A few weeks later the same happened the other side of the strop. But this time it was the long side, and a lot of the leather. Sadly the time had passed where I could send it back for a refund.. But a quick message to the seller, and another was shipped out and I received it the next day. Big bonus!!These strops don't readily take the compound I use - which is a bit of a pain, but a bit of roughing the leather with a wire brush and sandpaper and the compound goes down a bit easier.I would recommend them - just be ready to have to stick the leather back down. The price is good! compared to some of the other strops which I feel are very over priced for a piece of leather on a bit of scrap board lol
