Output dial has numbers in reverse
So this product seems sturdy enough, and it works perfectly for what I needed it for, but the main glaring issue is that the dial to tell you what heat level you are set to is reversed. The levels are listed from Max, then 8-1. Basically you rotate it clockwise to increase temperature and counter clockwise to decrease, but the numbers are written counter clockwise on the dial. This means that you max it out by going clockwise, and then rotate the other way the next setting on the dial is a blank space followed by 1,2,3,4, and then stopping at 5...When using this, start at the lowest setting and slowly creep up by rotating clockwise. Keep in mind you have no functional visual indication of where the temp is set to unless you print out your own decal, or paint over the dial face and draw in your own indicator....just be sure to remember which direction increases the heat and which decreases otherwise things could end badly if you are doing delicate work.

Great value for money despite minor flaws
This heat gun is simply great and worth every penny! I love it! I am glad I got the one with a digital display. While I love this product I think it has two minor design flaws . First, there is no line indicating which setting you have the temperature knob on. That is easy to fix on your own with a felt pen. But then we have the markings on the knob itself. They are backwards... In order to increase the temperature you turn the know clockwise. And with the help of the digital display, this is super easy. But if we look at the numbers on the knob one can get confused... If we assume the markings indicate heat, they are in the wrong order as you will have to LOWER the number to increase the temperature. If we think of the numbers as attenuation rather than heat it all makes sense. The highest attenuation gives the lowest temperature. These are such a minor things that I still give it 5 stars.

does what it is meant to do
I have used this product often because I do a lot of crafting with glitter, epoxy and alcohol ink. One complaint I have is that it doesn't have a off-on button. Other than that, it seems to be of decent quality, appears durable as I have dropped it a few times.

Watch out it does not reach the temperatures they say
It's an okay heat gun, it does not get near as hot as it states here! So if you need really high Temps (over 650) you're not going to get them with this gun.One picture shows 591 and that's the hotter I could get it on setting 2 (high fan) and at max heat it says it can reach 1,000F, simply not true... It does not seem to be malfunctioning, just probably deceiving description. The other shows max temp on setting 1 (low fan). That was disappointing but I don't really need it to run that hot so I kept it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Feels a little light, but works great for what I need it to do!
There is no real "bulk" feel to this at all, but it works for what I need it to do. I have not tried it for anything other than creating heat for shrink tube to seal wiring. Being light weight was actually a plus for me as it is easier to maneuver then would be a heavier one.One word of caution though, this stays HOT for a very long time after shutting it off, so be careful and prepared to let is sit for quite awhile before touching the metal end of it.

Great value. Doesn’t feel cheap.
Works great especially for the price. Heats up quickly, definitely gets the job done. Get this instead of struggling with a hair dryer. I used it on a small vinyl wrap job and it got the vinyl to a moldable temp quickly. I used it to dry some ball bearings that were rinsed with water, before rust could set in. I look forward to using this on wire shrink wraps in the future.

Worked great on my window glazing
Needed to remove window glazing on 30-year old windows. Popped this baby out and BOOM! Made my paint peel it got so hot! It's all good though. There are two speed settings, though the setting only affects the fan (I think). It gets hot on both settings. Very lightweight. Probably about the weight of a hairdryer, maybe less even. Would buy again.

nice quality
this heat gun is really nice. the air speed isnt adjustable, but i found the accessory nozzles help increase velocity and focus the heat like a spot light. that is pretty much all i need. the gun itself is made really nice. its nicer than the $10 cheapo from harbor freight i am replacing because it got left out in the rain.
