58" Polyester Poplin Black, Fabric by the Yard

I've had 2 other neon yellow polyester poplin fabrics. Compared to them, this is a coarser fabric finish. Not as slippery/polished feeling as what I've used before. But, in some ways I like it better. It's more of a rugged finish, outdoorsy. That works better for me than elegance/fineness. It gives the impression of denim (it's not badly coarse/rugged.). But, it's definitely not denim (thick, heavy). It's still light/sheer. You can see your hand underneath it (like other poplin. The finish is a bit coarse, rugged appearance compared to what I've seen before. I started to give 4 stars. That seems fair. But, I gave 5 because there's nothing wrong with it. It's good fabric. It's hard to choose fabric online. It isn't bad. I wouldn't want to imply (with 4 stars) that it's disappointing. The term "neon yellow" seems to apply to a lot of colors. I think the ideal is a funky bright yellow-green safety fabric. Some fabrics called neon yellow are more green than yellow. Others are more yellow than green. This one is in the yellow range. No green. I'd call it light canary yellow. It's bright enough to be called neon. It works for my purposes. But, it's probably not that funky "safety fabric" color people think of (a kind of flourescent green/yellow).

Very satisfied with purchase. The only reason I knocked off one star is because the color is lighter than the picture.

Fabric is exactly as stated. Fast delivery. Fabric was full of lint or fur, but was in great conditions. I definitely will be ordering from this company again

I do not like it. It looked shiny & silky, but far from it. Very disappointed..

Not the polyester fabric i was looking for. Still useable but not what I wanted.

Mostly I was using it for patch detail on a jacket for a cosplay. The only downside I found to the fabric was that it frayed kind of easily so I had to experiment a little with finishing the edges or putting some hem tape in the edges so it didn’t fray everywhere while I was working with it. Obviously this isn’t a fault on the seller but options for this color were either spandex or sweater fabric and I needed something with no stretch. Overall the color and the fabric worked for what I needed!
