Canterbury Ventilator Headgear

Provided good ear protection and prevented mine from getting ripped off in matches. This cap also has really good overall ventilation so my head does not get too sweaty and I don't get any cauliflower ear. Scrum caps in general do not really provide any protection for the head, but this one does help soften the blows to the head by a bit. Would highly recommend to any rugby players in need of a good scrum cap.

The moment I took this out of its bag. I noticed the quality, the stiching is pretty tight. Plenty of ventilation on the top, hence the "ventilator" plenty of holes throughout the whole thing but it doesn't take away from the protection it provides. Each piece of padding is rigid, it can definitely absorb some Impact. Most scrum caps are designed merely to protect the ears and forehead against scraping, friction, and the occasional tap on the head. But this one can take some hits. I literally punched my head with this thing on a few times and wasn't painful, I could definitely feel it but it wasn't like wtf! That hurt. I'm anxious to see how this performs on the field. I'll like to see how it does against a shoulder, an elbow, or a flying knee.

Quality product, I use it for no-gi jiu jitsu. The helmet stays in place well, even when others play dirty and attempt to yank it off my head through the ventilator holes on the top. The back strings work well to keep it in place through rough house. My only complaint would be the front strap, as it can be annoying, and I might have to find a tailor soon to replace the velcro due to the aforementioned yanks on finger grips from the top ventilator holes.

Actually got this for our son who has some serious disabilities. Recently he has developed the habit of hitting himself in the head. This was the only thing we could find that he would wear and that works. It is so light weight and fits him perfectly. And pads his head. We love it!

Light, comfortable and does not move or distract when scrummaging etc. It's not too hot when worn in hot and humid conditions. Highly recommended.
