Orbit B-hyve 94995 Bluetooth Hose Tap Timer, Also Works as Extra Valve for 94990 Timer with Wi-Fi Hub

Fast and easy to set up and use.

Software updates brick the system and the WiFi hub falls over so many times it is useless. WiFi hub currently showing online at device but not registered at all on my LAN after working previously.

Works OK with hub but hub is not very good at connecting to WiFi or keeping connected to hub only 3M away.

I've bought 12 of these over the three years. A few are replacements for ones that broke but none of them really work as advertised. It's a shame, because this is a very good idea… but the execution is poor. The hardware is difficult to work with, the software is incredibly aggravating and – possibly worse of all – for a device that's supposed to offer reassurance, they work… sometimes. They're very difficult to attach to a tap, with poor quality threads that love to strip or cross-thread. Getting a Bluetooth connection is next to impossible unless you're holding the smartphone a couple of inches away from the timer (which rather defeats the object), the user interface on the App is truly terrible and makes something that should be very simple. (Turn this one four times a day, for three minutes each time, at 5am, 10am, 5pm, 10pm – or whatever) incredibly long-winded. The wifi capability isn't very robust, and the timer will randomly cease working with no notification – other than when you realise there's a lot of dead, brown plants where there should be flowers.

Poor support. CS unable to resolve issue. Need to manually switch between two devices to control manually. Will almost certainly have an issue during firmware update. The device maybe disconnected for over two days before you get an alert. By which time your plants are dead! An earlier warning may allow time to resolve or change battery. Wish the support was better. Doesnt work with Alexa. The Alexa skill is so poor the reviews say it all.

The information provided by Otbit is wrong. This unit does not connect to Apple homekit although ALL of Orbits information says it does. Should be had up for lying about their product. Thus one star. Besides Orbit lying the unit seems to work adequately .

Versatile bit of kit. Can be used as a hose timer if you’ve attached a sprinkler to it. Or used as a timer for an irrigation system. I’ve used it as both and it’s good. The app takes a bit of setting up but can then do all the watering for you with the smart watering feature. Bit noisy when the solenoid activates though, makes a hell of a “clunk” through the house when it starts and stops watering. Takes 2 AA batteries and pairs to your phone. Buy the additional wifi connector and it’s even better. Customer service from Orbit is also great, they’re very helpful.

Il prodotto e' ben realizzato, semplice da installare e molto valido soprattutto se pensate di installarne piu' di uno (io ne ho due uno per ogni terrazzo/balcone) per ammortizzare il costo del gateway. L'applicazione che gestisce il tutto e' abbastanza versatile ma non immediatamente facile da utilizzare, visto il quantitativo di menu e sub menu. Consente di gestire programmazioni indipendenti per ogni valvola, la durata delle batterie (due stilo AA) e' buona, lo uso da qualche mese e non ho dovuto sostituirle ancora, in ogni caso il livello di carica e' ben riportato dall'applicazione. Muy bueno. El acceso, tanto localmente por bluetooth como a través del accesorio para extenderlo a wifi, magnífico. Ni un solo fallo. El control, máximo. Se pueden generar un gran número de programaciones (desconozco el límite) aunque solo puede haber 3 activas. Cada programación es completamente configurable. Tiempo de riego desde 15 segundos. Los días que se quiera y a las horas que se quiera. En la interfaz móvil solo se pueden agrandar 4 horas al día, cosa que sobraría, pero desde la web, se pueden programas más. Bueno, un producto redondo, que hace bien su función básica y que es completamente personalizable. En mi caso no lo he probado con Alexa, así que no puedo hablar de las integraciones.

Sehr zuverlässige Schaltbox, um den Wasserhahn aus der Ferne an und auszuschalten. In Kombination mit der Gardena sechsfach Verteilerbox kann ich so meinen ganzen Garten aus der Ferne bewässern und bekomme Nachrichten, dass ich aufgrund der Wetterlage jetzt die Bewässerung stoppen kann. Alles sehr durchdacht und aus jetziger Sicht sehr zuverlässig. An die App musste ich mich etwas gewöhnen. Der Support war aber sehr hilfreich – innerhalb von 20 Minuten hatte ich eine zufriedenstellende Antwort. In der App wird sogar der Wasserdurchfluss angezeigt und man kann sich benachrichtigen lassen, wenn automatisch gewässert wurde.
