This is a unique piece - a quiet, slimline motor which can be wired to any home automation solution you might choose. I have more than 10 of these now fitting within the box of old sash windows for slimline roller blinds and used as face-fit roman blind motors. I fitted to 28mm tubes and custom fabric and used with Z-Wave controllers. Saved a ton of money over a turnkey solution, and with a better result.Customer service from Rollerhouse was super helpful both before and after purchase to help me get the right attachments and brackets for my needs. They really came through - actually dispatching some more end caps for China for me when I had a problem. Absolutely brilliant.

instructions on setting the up and down position are clear enough and does not take much working out how to use the fixing options for the motor. My tube has a internal diameter of 25mm but nothing supplied will fit the opposite end to the motor, had to buy extra blind fixings to be able to install the blind so be aware of that. Just one point accepting the motor runs on just 12 volts I personally would like slightly higher gauge wire coming off the motor so I used two core flex wire soldered on to the motor wire and covered the connection with shrink sleeving. Might be of help to someone else the hard wire switch connections shown by the seller will not work if using a on-off-on standard switch, check connections via the net that will be for a two wire only motor.

This was used to create a retrofit/DIY automated rollershade. The roller works well and is quiet. There is a short beep (not too loud) when the roller is activated. The roller has stop and start positions that can be programmed. These seems to come with a pre-set default roll distance of about 12", so you'll need to reset that - don't assume its defective if it only rolls a short distance. There are no brackets included, you will need to purchase those to mount this. The motor has a 7mm slot in it to mount on a bracket, but most brackets, including the ones from Rollerhouse on Amazon are 10mm (so -1/2 star :-). You can use a Dremel to cut down the bracket to fit into the rollerhead if all you can find are the 10mm brackets.The rollerhouse support team was very helpful determining the motor size for my application. They even helped me locate the correct brackets. When I create another set of automated shades, I'll use this again.

No readio control and not even 3-wire control this is unusable garbage.
