Excellent Receiver/Amplifier with Built-in BT Technology
My old Onkyo receiver/amplifier stopped working properly so I started looking for a replacement. I found this Pyle product on Amazon and when I saw the specs and the price, I did not hesitate a second and ordered it right away. The specs I loved the most is the BT wireless streaming for karaoke and the 4 HDMI and 3 pairs of RCA inputs, and speaker terminal posts for my sorround sound speakers. I also hooked it up to my mixer and karaoke hardrive and it just perform superbly. I am really happy and satisfied with this product.

You get what you pay for...
I was looking for a cheap 5.1 receiver. Well, I should have been careful about what I wished for. This is NOT a 5.1 Home Theater Receiver, this is nothing more than a Karaoke machine that happens to be able to do 5.1 (and doesn't do either very well).I tried one, returned it because the 5.1 wasn't working even when using 5.1 media. Replacement did do 5.1 surround (poorly). Returned after a single day of use, and I bought a Denon AVR-S540BT as a replacement. Save yourself the aggravation and get a real Audio/visual receiver.Let's be real, you don't care about my story, you are here for the facts:1) The HDMI Input *will* do 5.1, but ONLY if the input is providing 5.1 media. Otherwise you get Stereo only (no bass speaker).2) You can not force/upmix HDMI, Radio, Aux or Bluetooth stereo into 2.1, 3.1 or 5.1. If the input is stereo, you only get stereo. This means for Bluetooth and AM/FM radio, you will not get 5.1 sound, ever and only get 5.1 if you have Aux or HDMI inputs which are sending a 5.1 signal.3) There is no "Listening Mode", "Sound Mode", "MultiChannel Stereo", or "All-Mode Stereo". Meaning you don't get to listen to music on all the speakers. If you connect your PS4/PS5 or XBOX to this, make sure the game or movie/show you are watching is broadcast in 5.1.4) Does not do any Dolby processing or decoding and no ARC on this. The 5.1 processing is passable at best. If you play any Dolby 5.1 type audio, prepare for distortion, crackling and sound 'fluttering'.5) The receiver must be physically on for the HDMI passthrough to work (physical power button pushed in).6) When the receiver is on, the fan is always running7) Power button on remote puts the Receiver into standby, does not turn it off.8) No matter what volume level you have the speakers set to and no matter if you are playing Stereo, 2.1, 3.1 or 5.1, a slight buzzing/humming will be played on your speakers.9) Mic inputs were unreliable. I tried a few different mics in all 3 of the mic inputs, adjusted the mic level, adjusted the volume, adjusted the echo and delay. Mic was either muted or breaking up or highly distorted. Mics themselves work fine on other devices.10) AM/FM reception is absolutely horrid. I have a 1990's clock radio that can pick up better FM radio and my 1930's Tube Radio picks up AM better!

Works for me...
A great value. I have high quality "older" audio componets that are still in good shape, but need RCA type connection points so I needed to keep my older Receiver/Amp unit, but needed something I could use in a Pre-Amp configuration and yet provide the newer HDMI, Bluetooth and MIC input functions I also wanted. The Pyle PT588AB was the only unit I could find that would do all those things and having PRE-OUT 1 & 2 RCA type outputs made it possible. It works and sounds great with my system. I already addressed the slightly noisy internal fan with PYLE support. I also asked some other questions, but only got referred to their documentation web-site, The type of questions I asked were too technical for what is published there. Whatever happened to placing schematic diagrams of the internal system componets in the documentation? Anyway, all in all, this was a good find for me. I purchased the extended warranty based upon some of the comments that was in the reviews but from my experience thus far I don't think it will be needed.

It isn't bad for the price....
Pro's: It's a basic receiver with Bluetooth. Works well with my android phone. It's aggressively priced, and works well enough for it's purpose. 4 HDMI inputs 1 HDMI output. It's powerful enough for a medium sized room. It's not going to blow you away but for the price I wouldn't expect it to.Con's: The inputs do not seem to be directly selectable, so you have to scroll through HDMI 1, then 2, then 3 then 4 to get back to 1. If they are directly selectable on a programmable remote, I can not find the codes anywhere which leads to the documentation. The documentation is lacking (understatement), as it does not tell you much. I'm still trying to find out codec's it supports directly, and I've emailed their technical support a couple of weeks ago asking and got no response. There is a cooling fan which can be noisy, but it's really not that bad.

You get what you pay for; unfortunately does not meet my needs
Nice looking design and it seemed to have everything I was looking for to consolidate my home theater equipment. Unfortunately for me anyway, not one of the HDMI inputs would allow a signal to travel to my Casio LED/Laser projector. Which was the main reason I chose this Pyle in the first place. After reading all the reviews, and I mean ALL of them, I concluded that I would send the HDMI signal directly from my laptop to my projector bypassing the HDMI inputs in the Pyle. I then sent the audio from the headphone jack of the laptop to the AUX input of the pile, so the the surround sound would work. This allowed me to get a 5.1 output to my subwoofer, front and rear surround speakers. Also unfortunately, is the sound coming out of all the speakers is very shrillish and I have to turn the treble down considerably. The bass is weak also. So I used a splitter from the headphone jack of my laptop to a hundred watt subwoofer amplifier wired directly to my subwoofer to make up for the lack of bass coming out of the sub output in the back of the Pyle. I would consider sending it back to Amazon but since I live in the country of Panama the shipping charges would be unacceptable. So at this point just a lesson learned that not everything is as it should be in this crazy world. Buyer beware!
