A must for any vlogger
Not for everyone but if you want good sound, this is it. I use it with my mirrorless sony as a second angle and for sound, just the sound alone makes this worth it. No its not as tough as a gopro but this is great for selfie video, and the mics ROCK. if you are a vlogger, or a news reporter, this is a must have. The only cons are its not great in low light and not everyone likes the wide angle. But for me its the best thing ever, no need to sync audio anymore on youtube or use an external mic. That alone has changed my life.

Great camera for vlogging!
This camera is definitely meant for vlogging, which is why I bought it. The form factor makes it easy to carry around, as I have it strapped into a Grid-It in my messenger bag. The built-in stand is a nice feature, and I love that the screen flips over to both sides so that you can easily record yourself or your subject. The stereo microphones on this camera are great, and I love the way it captures my voice when I'm in the middle of a large crowd. I wish it was a bit easier to switch the fisheye on and off, but that's a minor thing. Recording in low-light levels is about the same when it comes to Canon's other smaller cameras, so don't expect to be able to see much during night shots. It also does not have optical zoom. But I can forgive these things, because this camera really isn't meant for making movies. It's just a really convenient vlog camera. One of my biggest gripes is actually the fact that there is no way to charge this via USB, which is a feature that many portable cameras have nowadays. This camera does come with a proprietary AC adapter to stay plugged into a wall while recording but it would be nice to be able to plug my camera into the same external battery pack that I use to charge my other devices when I'm on the go. I have found some third party cables but have yet to try them, and I'm also nervous about their quality and safety. Come on, Canon. Catch up!And here's my list of pros and cons...Likes:-Really good camera for vlogging-Great video quality-Great audio quality-Convenient built-in stand-Small and portable-LCD screen flips over to both sidesDislikes:-Does not come with USB charging cable-Poor low-light levels-No Optical zoom-Remote-recording with the smartphone app is not user friendly

Remote Function Does Not Work
Remote operation with the Android app does not work! Significant misrepresentation by Canon!

Good, but could use improvements - lens too fisheye, no zoom!
This camera has great stereo audio and is great for videoing yourself playing music or your band. It's also great for doing videos in your car as the stereo microphones are way better than the audio on a GoPro, and you can mount the Mini X upside down as it has a feature where it will keep the video right side up. It's not really made for extreme action though since it does not have a hard shell case to install it into.I'm a real stickler for audio quality and the built-in microphones on this unit are probably the best available on any small camcorder. I also really like that you can plug in an external microphone (mini jack) for even better audio. It even allows you to mix that microphone input with the built in ones such as in an interview situation. You can get quite professional sounding audio with this device that way. It has a headphone jack to for monitoring the audio. For vlogs/vlogging however, the lens on this seems a bit too wide angle and fisheye as it really distorts the image and makes you and your surroundings look odd. It's a way too rounded look. This tends to be more noticeable indoors (bent walls on the sides) or if you video something very close up, or if you put yourself any where near the edges of the frame. In my opinion, the ideal focal length for vlogging would be about 21mm however this lens seems about 16mm or so. I also really wish this had a zoom capability as there are times when you only have this camera with you but you want to video (or a take a still) or something far away. If it had an optical zoom, like any of the little Canon ELPH cameras do, it would be way more useful. It really needs a zoom capability! The ergonomics are excellent however and the fact that you can see yourself in the flip screen while you are vlogging or taking a selfie is really nice. The only glaring negative is the lack of any optical zoom function other than a close-up mode which just digitally crops the image (lowers the quality), and even that is only a on or off feature, it does not have a variable zoom.I really like this camera however wish it had a zoom and that the lens wasn't so fisheye. This cam would be at the very top of my recommend list if not for these limitations!

I actually returned it.
Great for casual blogging, but quality wasn't up to what I was looking for. However, great deal for the price.

This camera has become my favorite go-everywhere camera
This camera has become my favorite go-everywhere camera. Ideal for family videos, the wide angle allows for close up shots to get everyone in the frame in small rooms. Great microphone, so there is no need to add an external one. I can hang this from neck, put it in my pocket, small bag etc. The stand at the bottom also eliminates the need for a tripod in many cases. Plus you are getting Canons image quality. I just love it, can't say enough good things about it.

Canon bring this guy back! Perfect for streaming...
Obviously this wouldn't replace a XF405 or an AX30 etc but for the price (i got them when they were $399) they were perfect for player cams on our arcade style video game streams. they blow webcams out of the water the sound quality is excellent for an in-camera mic and the image quality and field of view is awesome with a decent light source. clean HDMI out a flip up screen for setting frame and continues power! Oh i have 3 of these that haven't been turned off in 1.5 years and streams perfectly. So if you can find them and you need a good player cam for streaming games both from 3-5ft away or 1ft away this is a perfect little camera. I have 6 but over the years i now only have 2 left the two i've never taken down and have been running 24/7. i wish canon would bring these babies back with some changes. love these guys!
