The best
Mixes well, tastes good and extremely good price for what quality you get. Because it has small amount of maltodextrin, other powders that have a lot of it will screw with your gut health and stomach. This mass gainer causes no stomach pain and pretty much Doesn’t even do anything to your gut. BEST MASS GAINER!!!

Great taste & product, yes it's grainy but it's got porridge oats
This is not a traditional whey protein powder that makes a smooth shake but then again are you really buying this for the taste or for the benefit? Ingredients include whey, egg and milk protein plus Scottish oats - which does give it a grainy texture. However if mixed well it is pleasant to drink. The main benefit is the mix and quantity of protein per serving. 34g of protein per 85g is superb in my view. Some more expensive "premium" brands only offer 17g of protein per 100g. Therefore this is more economical and in my opinion a great product overall.

Good but theres a catch
welcome to the review. i bought this powder as i thought it looked good as it didn't have the massive calories. I've been doing weight training for around 6 months now and i finally bought some protein so i bought this one. now the packaging is nice and easy to use. the smell of the powder is well chocolatey as that's the one i had. now the taste. ill put it short. its rank! its over ally sweet and lumps all over the joint. i wacked it in a blender and then the lumps were gone but it was still foul. it says add water on the back but i wouldn't recommend it plus 3 scoop's of this is very thick and it makes you cringe when drinking so i personally recommend milk and a bit more than 350ml. but having all that said i recently added 1 tbsp of unsweetened coco powder and wow is takes the very sweet flavour out and makes it drinkable for me anyway. now after taking this stuff for a week and bit now I've seen some really good gains in were I've been targeting, its been really good with building my muscle and repairing it so i do recommend it but just be ready for the taste. so overall the product is very very good for its meant to do but the taste is the only thing that lets it down.

Too many downsides with a hidden sting in value for money
I've previously used both this and the standard Bulk Pure Whey protein powder. This one actually turns out to be way less efficient and good value for money. I'll explain why. So I bought the 1kg bag. This lean version obviously advertises a great amount of protein for the price but there's a catch. It self-professes to contain 11 servings (really not that many). One serving requires 3 scoops of powder so you burn through it fast but to get the reported 34g protein per 85g you NEED to put 3 scoops. That means the bag only lasted me about 2 weeks. 3 scoops was also almost unpalatable in terms of how grainy it made the water and I used MORE than the suggested 300mls. Now compare that efficiency to the standard pure whey protein powder by Bulk. First of all that powder mixes much better and comes in much better flavours. Secondly that powder contains 22.5g per 30g serving, which is just a SINGLE scoop of powder. That means the other one lasted me a good month and a half to two months. In fact.. if you wanted to use 2 scoops and bump that to 45g of protein that would still be more efficient. I'd strongly suggest swerving this and going for something else.

Excellent taste, smoothness and price. Not nearly as grainy as expected
Just wanted to post as I almost didn’t buy this due to reviews saying it was grainy (from the ground oats). Well although it is true to say there are some very small grains they are bearly noticeable; certainly not what I was expecting. Actually I consider it very acceptably smooth. I use a special shaker with spring inside, which was only about £3. The flavour also very good although a bit sweet for my taste; however it is not sugar so no problem. Overall I love it. Hope this helps.

Must buy, great and can’t exaggerate enough!
This product is a must! I’ve been weight training for just over 10 months now and have started to hit a dead end in gains. No matter how heavy I lift or how much I lift or what I eat I’m struggling to put on muscle. But within 2 weeks of taking this product every few workouts I have seen massive gains! The flavour as well! I use almond milk or regular semi skimmed milk but both are great! Also the accelerated rate of muscle repair and gain was incredibly noticeable huge recommendation!

It’s ok
It’s a lean mass gainer, made from fine milled oats, too early to say how well it works, I mix with milk as bf use a blender to make it more like a milk shake, it does taste a bit chalky but I find it tastes ok and come on, it’s more bout what gains you can make. I would buy it again.

A nutritionist's review
So, this has a decent ratio of carbs, fat and protein. It has what is described as "slow and fast release" forms of nutrition, which I cannot speak for clinically... but it's very energy dense which is good for a mass gainer product. By the looks of it they've not gone overboard with the sugars which is also good. The flavour is good, it isn't too sweet and the vanilla is quite subtle making it good to use on its own or in a shake mix. The only issue is that when you just mix the powder with water or milk, it can be quite grainy as many have mentioned - I suspect this is down the the way it's processed. That being said, I chose to use the powder as part of a shake mix to avoid the grainy texture. Here's the recipe in case you're interested: handful of lightly steamed broccoli, handful of lightly steamed kale (you must cook them a little, they aren't great for you raw!), 2 scoops of mass gainer powder, 1 thumb of ginger, 2 inch section of cucumber, small handful of strawberries and blueberries (half a handful each - you don't want a lot of sugary fruit), 2 second pour of kefir (for the microbes), half an avocado (or a handul of frozen chunks which are ACE by the way as they don't get overripe!), teaspoon of super greens powder, teaspoon of raw cacao powder. End product pictured! Follow me for nutrition related reviews!
