Disappointing results and inadequate support.
Device was non functional and seemed to have a different brand name on it. I reordered the device and the device would not work at all. I was unable to connect the transmitter to the receiver and the receiver was stuck on the #1 channel. I reached out to customer service twice and got no response. I did a chat session and a very helpful associate "K" tried to get me to send it in for a possible 4-6 week turnaround which was just unacceptable but she was simply following the defined rules of engagement. Having not received any feedback whatsoever from the Nyrius company, I have no choice but to express disappointment in both the product and support. The site provides and online form for submission and indicates that you will receive a case number and call back, neither happened. "K" in the chat was my only contact and she provided me with my case numbers. I will order once more in the hope that the third unit will function appropriately. If it does not then I would not be able to recommend purchasing this item.Update to review...still no follow up from Nyrius. I had to return the device without any input from their Tech Support department. Vey disappointing indeed. I notice that the price increased as well. All I can say is it is unfortunate that I have not had the success with the device that others seem to have had with regard to installing it but the real issue is that no-one has attempted to contact me to help to get it working via some form of troubleshooting, that is bizarre.

Great unit, unique capabilities, only minor quirks
This thing fills a real need for me. I have a DirecTV Genie, PS3, XBox 360, Roku and PC in my living room, and wanted to access them all in an upstairs bedroom. This unit enables me to do just that, and the quality is flawless. I've been using it for over a year, and after a few initial quirks (see below), it has been completely reliable.I had tons of questions before buying it, so here is what I can share after using it for a year:Q: What's the range?A: I have it going from a first floor living room to a second floor bedroom diagonally above (about 15 feet and through a floor). I use extend mode because my TVs aren't 1080p, and I have no issues. When I tested it, extend mode seems to work at a maximum of about 30 feet through walls. To get 1080p, I expect you'll want to keep it close. We do live in a rural area, so I can't speak to how range is affected by lots of interference.Q: Is the connection reliable?A: It can be, but you have to keep the base unit COOL! I had all kinds of connection issues initially (I suspect this is a major source of the connection complaints in other reviews). Even ShopTech's very kind and responsive tech support staff couldn't help me out. Then I remembered that this thing is basically a powerful wifi unit, and like any wifi router, it doesn't function well when it gets hot. And this thing was getting hot. So I bought a cheap netbook fan ( Targus Chill Mat for Netbooks, Black (AWE39US1) ) and put it under the base unit. After that, no more connection issues.Q: What about the HDMI complaints about not being able to view certain content?A: For those who don't know, some content sent over HDMI is protected via HDCP encryption. So, depending on how you set this unit up (and particularly if you try to watch the same thing on two screens using the loop-through port), you might run into issues with blank screens when watching movies, playing games, etc. This isn't the Nyrius' fault; it's just how HDMI works. However, the perfect solution comes from these splitters: ViewHD 2 Port 1x2 Powered HDMI Mini Splitter for 1080P & 3D | VHD-1X2MN3D . They will strip out the HDCP protection eliminate the issue. Also, because they're splitters, I was able to output each of my sources to both the Nyrius and my main TV separately, which means I can watch separate inputs upstairs and downstairs. Otherwise, I would have had to use the loop-through, in which case both the wireless receiver and wired connection must watch the same input. Best of all, if your device offers a Component connection option like my DirecTV Genie does, you can use the two component connections on this unit and watch the component source either wirelessly or via the loop-through, allowing this unit to double as a Component to HDMI converter as well.Q: How's the latencyA: As advertised, it's completely non-existent. I can play fast-reaction video games with no problem.Q: Is startup connection slow?A: Other reviews complain about this. Yes, it takes 10-15 seconds to power on or switch inputs. But unless you are constantly switching inputs or are incredibly impatient, file this under "no big deal".Q: Does the IR connection work?A: Yes. All the IR remotes I tried upstairs controlled the source units downstairs. However, most of the source units can be controlled without IR anyway, so I don't really use the feature very much. It might be helpful to know that the wireless receiver has an IR target built in, so you don't need to use the included external target unless you plan to hide the receiver in a cabinet.Q: Can you have multiple receivers?A: No. This one is a little bit of a bummer, because it would be extremely cool to connect multiple TVs wirelessly to the base. But as of now, you can only connect one wireless receiver.Overall, this has been the best buy I've made on Amazon. It is incredible to be able to watch any source unit I want upstairs or downstairs without having to buy extra units. It saves me hundreds of dollars in extra receiver fees to my satellite company and in the cost of extra consoles to be able to play upstairs. Thanks Nyrius!

Warranty Replacement is Working
This is such a cool little set of boxes. This is a great input switch that will select up to 4 HDMI sources AND 2 additional component video sources passing the output signal to a local TV on an HDMI port. Then,… anything that is on the main screen can also be seen on the extender box attached to another TV. This is great for the Kitchen or Deck to keep up with the game while cooking or entertaining. Now, for the downside. The range is very short for high definition 1080P. My source is downstairs and I had to put the upstairs receiver below the entertainment shelf as the metal shelf and the sound bar bass speaker blocked the signal. I am going about 25 feet through 3 walls and a chimney. I’m still setting up the IR remotes as I’m only tapping into multiple cable boxes (and antenna TV receiver) right now muxing into a StarTech PIP unit to put 4 sources onto a 4K TV at once (wouldn’t want to miss a game). Another small notation – the RCA jacks are for Component input only and DO NOT support Composite sources like you might find on an old VCR. Most Component inputs on TV’s support Composite too. This is the second day of my second unit. The first unit lasted about 8 hours and then would not pass any input signals to the local HDMI port or wireless receiver. I emailed product support and got a response within their advertised next business day. Kristi was very thorough reviewing the symptoms and quickly decided that I should send it in to warranty repair/ replacement. I didn’t even need to share my electronics degree to demonstrate that I didn’t install it wrong. She arranged a return authorization (that noted replacement) and when I asked, arranged for a UPS shipping label. I still had to drop the package at a UPS store as the label did not include pickup. Four weeks later, I am now able to write this review after opening the new unit.

Not As Advertised
Purchased this product a month ago and the cumulative time it functioned properly in that period is roughly two day, and the amount of time I wasted troubleshooting the various issues was absurd.I had a fairly simple set up as I just wanted to eliminate a bulky HDMI cable running from my Onkyo receiver to an Epson projector, about ten feet away in the same room. The first unit I purchased worked fairly well, but would not display video with the Xbox One or the cable box (Apple TV, Xbox 360, Blu Ray - seemed to work fine). The customer service was relatively useless until I contacted the owner, who was quite helpful. They sent me a new unit, which took two weeks to receive even though I live in the same country as where it is produced. The Xbox One now worked, but the same issues with the cable box - audio, but no video. Following some more trouble shooting, I finally decided to try running the connection to a brand new cable box in the house (even though the one I was currently connected to was only about 3-4 years old). YES! Problem solved! However, within a day or so it was up to its old tricks again and would sporadically connect until it finally wouldn’t connect to any component at all. Brutal.Obviously there is a financial consideration when you purchase a product that doesn’t work, but in my case it was more the innumerable hours of time I wasted in trouble shooting and correspondence that would not have been necessary had the product worked as advertised. Now I’m faced with more wasted time returning the product through Amazon, as Nyrius decided - even though they manufacture and provide support for the product - they no longer were accountable for the sale. Nice.As consumers, the only leverage one has to level the playing field with manufacturers or service providers, is to provide honest and accurate assessments of their experience with the product or service. This item may work in your situation, but did not in mine.UPDATE:Nyrius Customer Support did nothing to remedy the situation and by dragging their feet for weeks on the issue, Amazon will no longer honour their 30-Day refund policy on the product. I now have an expensive desk ornament. AVOID THIS PRODUCT IF POSSIBLE!! Have to give second thoughts to using Amazon, also.

Something good and something bad !!!
the good point is that I connected 5 sources to send them to my TV or wireless to a second TV, picture is very goodthe bad point is the distance advertised; it said 65ft or in extended mode 100ft. This is not my experience, with me it connected maximum 16ft in extended mode with no walls or concrete obstacles, only glass windows and wood doors, so I had to buy a longer cable HDMI to get to the TV.

It is acceptable but not friendly
It is bit complicated to connect and operate, receiving from 6 items is not functioning well. connecting all sensors on one wire is not practical at all. some devices is working and some other they broadcast but can't control by remote. ( such as PVR of Videotron)
