Bought this for my oldest daughter to wear in Costa Rica this semester while she traveled abroad! I have to say...I haven't seen a picture with her without it on...so I am going to say that purchasing this hat was a win win!

OK as a safari hat.
Did a good job with keeping the sun out of my eyes but it was not easily "foldable" in luggage and the part of the hat that fits over the head is not as deep as it appears in the photo. At the end of my safari I left it in Africa because it was just too unattractive and took up space in my carry on. Overall I would advise a hat that does not have as stiff a brim if you are going on a safari where carry on luggage space is at a premium.
